๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‘ฃ Hoofing around in Cornwall!

We held a fantastic Cattle Foot First course in Cornwall at the end of July, bringing together a great group of wonderful young farmers keen to improve their hoof health knowledge and practical skills.

There was plenty of hands-on learning, lots of great discussion, and a few laughs along the way! ๐Ÿ‘โญ

A huge well done to everyone who completed the course. We hope you left with plenty of confidence and skills to put into practice back on farm.

Name suggestions welcome! ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ„

After attending our 3-day DEFRA Approved DIY AI course last year, Jenson Nicholls put his new skills into practice, and today saw the arrival of his very first calf conceived through artificial insemination!

A great achievement and a testament to the value of developing practical breeding skills on farm. Congratulations Jenson! ๐ŸŽ‰ Michael Head

Step 2: Remain inside the cab.

It is very important that you do not attempt to exit the tractor, during the event of hitting a powerline, until further advice or help has arrived.

This is because the metal frame of the tractor safely conducts electricity around you and insulates you from the ground. Exiting the cab before the power is disconnected provides a direct path for the electricity to travel through your body to the ground, which can result in fatal electrocution. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Step 1: Call 105 ๐Ÿ“ž

105 is the national helpline for reporting power cuts and electricity network emergencies. Calls to 105 are free of charge and connect callers directly to their local electricity network operator.

The service can be used to report power outages, as well as damage to electricity power lines, substations, or other electrical infrastructure that may present a danger to yourself or others.

Funded and operated by the UK's electricity network operators, 105 provides a simple, nationwide point of contact for electricity-related emergencies and is a unique service within the UK energy industry.

With some courses already completed and many more still to come, we're looking forward to meeting even more of you over the coming weeks. There's nothing better than seeing participants gain confidence through hands-on, practical training and taking new skills back to their businesses.

This week, we had the privilege of spending two days at the VetPartners UK Head Office in York, delivering an interactive Instructional Techniques and Communications course to Business Support Managers, the People Team, and the Sustainability Department.

It was fantastic to work with such an engaged group, exploring effective communication and training techniques that can be applied across the business. We look forward to hearing about their ongoing training initiatives and seeing the impact of their learning.

If you or your business would be interested in completing this course, please don't hesitate to get in touch to find out more.
