☀️With the recent hot weather, it’s important to stay alert to the risk of heat stress in livestock. When temperatures reach around 22°C, animals can begin to show early signs of heat stress. This threshold is based on an average UK humidity level of 60%.
However, when we factor in variations in humidity, as well as bedding type, breed, housing system, wind speed and other environmental conditions, the temperature at which heat stress occurs can drop significantly.
