The University of Liverpool are asking farmers, or members of the farm team involved in managing hoof health to fill in a survey to help them develop new tools to support hoof health on farm. In exchange for fill in the survey, you will be entered into a prize draw to win either a ๐ŸŽ‰ยฃ250 Mole Valley Farmers voucher, or a ยฃ150 food hamper!๐ŸŽ‰ The survey only takes between 10-15 minutes to fill in. The results of this survey will inform the next raft of research to help farmers to improve hoof health.

Foot and Mouth:
There have been no reported cases within the UK, but we encourage you to continue with good levels of biosecurity with particular focus on people, shared equipment and movement of animals.
Due to the rising number of foot and mouth disease cases across Europe, as of the 23rd April the Government has increased the risk of the disease entering the UK to โ€˜mediumโ€™. This means that international travellers are no longer allowed to bring meat or dairy products from cattle, sheep, goat, and pigs from EU countries into Great Britain for personal use. Trade of wholesale products with Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and Austria is also currently restricted.
Please speak to your vet or give the practice a call if you have any concerns or would like to review your biosecurity plan.

Bluetongue vaccines ๐Ÿ’‰
There are now three BTV-3 vaccines available for cattle and sheep in England. You may be interested in vaccinating your flock/herd during winter before the high risk period that comes with warmer weather.

Contact us to register your interest for vaccines and we can go through a risk assessment to decide which route is best for you and your animals.
