Weekend Job Vacancy at Clearwood Cattery :-)

As most of you know we are a small family run business and we are now looking to recruit another part-time Cattery Assistant to help care for our feline friends! This role could suit a student aged 16 or over due to our insurance.

This will be a zero hours contract that is very flexible but primarily working Sunday mornings from 8.30am until 12.30pm and Sunday afternoons from 4-6pm. During our quieter months there may be less (or even no) hours, whereas during the school holidays there is a chance for extra hours during the week.

You need to be fit, flexible and feline crazy and applicants must have own transport or a reliable lift due to the location of the cattery.

Full training will be given with job role to commence in August. Wage dependent on age and experience.

We'd like to introduce you all to our (not so new) Cattery Assistant Hannah! Hannah has been with us since last year but we've finally got around to taking a photo of her, alongside the very handsome Bertie! Hannah is completely cat crazy and has her own feline princess called Poppy! Welcome to the team Hannah!

For any of our followers in Beckington, please keep an eye out for Arnie, one of our lovely regular guests who has gone missing from home at the weekend. 😿

UPDATE - 5 March '25
Arnie is safely back home. He was found trapped in a nearby garage. Since being collected by his humans he has settled back into the secure comfort of his household and filled his grumbling tummy with his favourite food.

Missing from home since 1 March '25, Arnie is 6 years old. He is a lovely dark grey and white boy with a very distinctive black splodge in the middle of his nose. He has some white steaks within the grey on his back and on his left back leg. Arnie isn't known to not return home and his humans are worried for his wellbeing. If sighted, please approach with gentleness.
Arnie is microchipped and neutered.

Could all people who live and work in / around this area please check their properties, outbuildings, under hedgelines and parked cars thoroughly.
🔶 If safe to do so, please leave outbuilding doors open, for an hour or so, so he can escape if he is hiding 🔶

We'd like to wish our lovely cattery assistant Jen a very happy 70th Birthday! Jen joined us 10 years ago and has no plans to retire just yet! We celebrated her milestone birthday with an afternoon tea at The Bridge Tearooms in Bradford on Avon! (Jen is in the middle in the stripey top!)

Following an inspection from Wiltshire Council earlier this week, we are proud to announce we have been awarded a 5 star licence for another 3 years. 😁😁😁

A lot of people aren't aware that all kennels and catteries are licenced by their local council and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all the animals boarding, the establishments have a list of requirements to meet, all outlined in the DEFRA guidelines.

It's always worth checking that any facility you are thinking of using is licenced by the council so you know your feline (or canine!) family member will be well cared for whilst you are away!
