A photo tribute to the best work colleague with the most admirable work ethic I have known. Many happy memories and cuddles working under you for 11 years. May your retirement to the big clinic in the sky be just as comfy for ever and ever. Miss you Little Bloke ###

Well, it's been a very busy few weeks. I have had my last shifts at The Cat Clinic and Middle Brighton Veterinary Centre - thank you to both clinics for allowing me to feel an integral part of both teams. I have packed all my belongings into a container, sold my car and apartment, and flown to the UK and started my "new" professional chapter at Garston Veterinary Group - a practice that set me up in my career both as a student and a new graduate over 20 years ago. The practice is in a lovely region of the English countryside just south of Bath, and I'll be making it my home for the foreseeable future.
This is me signing off as "Andythevet" the locum, but would like to thank all the staff and clients of all the practices I have worked at over the last 18 months for their friendship and support. I wish you and your pets all the best.

It's been a busy and rewarding week working so close to my home. Still trying to decide if it's down to the shorter morning trip into the clinics, or the relaxed cafe culture of these lovely Melbourne beachside suburbs that have made the experience so pleasant. Whatever the answer, it seems to rub off onto the helpful nurses, lovely clients (with fresh flat whites in hand!), and the variety of happy pets that come through the doors. "Meggsie" the Elwood Clinic cat and "Marlo" the Ragdoll kitten both agree Bayside life is good for your health!

Thank you Dr. Jane Kohler for spoiling the locum on his birthday!

Summer by the bay ... meeting Sandringham's "Ernie Dingo" was just one of numerous happy moments experienced whilst providing cover over the festive season at Central Veterinary Hospital. Thank you to all the nurses and receptionists for spoiling me rotten and looking after my coffee requirements so conscientiously!

The extended Indian Summer of 2016 has proved a great time to visit the UK. The trip has been made an even more worthwhile experience by the dedicated team at Forest House Veterinary Hospital in Windsor - my work place and home from August through to October. How satisfying it has been to join in with the busy life and high standards of a 24 hour RCVS accredited small animal hospital. Having such beautiful and historic surroundings has certainly added to the pleasures of the weekly half day!

Getting updated doesn't have to be really hard work ... The annual ANZCVS conference was busier than ever, and the feline masterclass this year was a great addition.
