With our dedicated team of friendly vets, compassionate nurses and caring reception staff, we are proud to provide an exceptional level of care for the pets of Darlington and it's surrounding areas. We have 19 branches across Tyne and wear, Durham and Northumberland which are supported by our Tier 3 RCVS hospital in Newcastle Upon Tyne. We have excellent operating and in house facilities including a separate dedicated feline unit which has received Gold standard cat friendly clinic status.

Handsome white cat Monty came in for his castration today — and he was such a sweetheart from start to finish!

From leaning in for strokes when he arrived, to snuggling in his carrier, to getting cosy under blankets after his op… Monty made friends with everyone 💕

Castration is a quick, routine procedure that has lots of benefits — from preventing unwanted litters to reducing the risk of certain health issues. And as Monty proved, there’s always time for cuddles before and after!

🐾 Teddy’s Big Day 💙

This adorable black-and-brown Cockapoo, Teddy, came in for his castration — and pretty much charmed everyone from the moment he arrived! 😍

From cuddles in Nurse Katherine’s lap in kennels, to belly rubs on his walk, to tucking into his food post-op — Teddy took it all in his stride. 🐶💤

He had:
💙 A calm, snuggly settle-in with Katherine
🪡 A smooth castration procedure
🍽 A tasty recovery meal
💤 Cosy post-op naps (with plenty more cuddles!)

We think he may have also applied for the position of “full-time lap dog” while he was here! 🥰

💪 Buster the Fighter 🐶❤️

This handsome Shih Tzu, Buster, came in for a castration and the removal of a large mass — weighing a whopping 645g (that’s over half a bag of sugar!) 😮

The surgery went smoothly, but during recovery, Buster suffered a cardiac arrest.

Thanks to the quick, calm work of Senior Vet Emma, Senior Nurse Frankie, and Student Nurse Hollie, we were able to stabilise him and bring him back. 💓
We’re so proud of how hard the team worked in those critical moments — and so relieved to say that Buster has made a full recovery and is doing brilliantly.

He’s now back to his happy self — complete with harness, bow, and a big personality! 🐾🎀

Cases like Buster’s are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do — and how important trust, teamwork, and fast action are in veterinary care.

💖 Brave Bella’s Journey 💉🐶 (⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️)

Sweet little Bella came in after her eye became swollen and cloudy, and it quickly became clear that it needed to be removed to keep her comfortable and pain-free.

Our vet Rebecca performed the surgery, and Bella was an absolute ⭐️ from start to finish.

She had:
🛁 A gentle prep
🪡 A neat stitch-up
🤗 Loads of cuddles in recovery
✨ And at her post-op check a few days later, she was healing beautifully!

Eye removal (enucleation) might sound scary, but many pets adapt incredibly well — especially when they're as brave and loved as Bella 💕

We're so proud of how she's handled everything — and even more proud of the kindness and trust shown by her family in bringing her to us.

This beautiful tortoiseshell lady, Ginger, popped in for her 6-month health check — but clearly decided she was running the clinic today! 😹
(Sat right in the nurse's chair like she owned the place!)

She came in to see our lovely Senior Nurse Frankie, who gave her a full mid-year MOT, checking:
✅ Weight & condition
✅ Teeth & coat
✅ Joints, behaviour & overall health

🐶 Noodle’s Spay Day! 💖

This sweet little sausage, Noodle, came in recently for her spay — and she was the perfect patient from start to finish! 🐾

She rocked her recovery in a medical pet shirt, stayed cosy under anaesthesia (blankets are essential, obviously 💤), and had a beautifully neat, small wound after surgery. 🧵✨

Our vet Amy performed an ovariectomy — slightly different to the more traditional spay (ovariohysterectomy), but just as effective. Both remove the ovaries, but an ovariectomy is:
✅ Less invasive
✅ Involves a smaller wound

Speying is important because it:
✅ Stops the risk of a pyometra
✅ Lowers the risk of reproductive cancers

Every vet has their preferred approach — and we tailor it to each patient for the safest, most comfortable recovery possible 💚

Milo is an English Bulldog x Belgian Malinois, which means we’re expecting a whole lot of personality and power as he grows up... but for now, he’s all belly rubs and puppy snoozes 💤🐶

This gorgeous girl Star used to be absolutely terrified of coming to the vets… but now? She drags her owner through the door, tail wagging and ready for cuddles! 🐾💕

Despite having had her fair share of treatments over the years — including regular Librella injections for arthritis — she’s always so happy to see us. That waggy tail and big smile say it all. 🖤

We’ve built up a bond with Star slowly, with time, treats, and a lot of patience — and now she’s part of the family 💚

🐾 Frank’s Big Adventure 🐾

From London to Darlington... and back home again!

This handsome boy Frank gave his owner quite the scare when he went missing a few weeks ago — only to turn up hundreds of miles away… in Darlington! 😱🚛🐱

Frank had accidentally hopped into a moving van, unknowingly taking a road trip far from home. Thankfully, when he was brought into us, our team scanned him for a microchip straight away — and it led us all the way back to his registered owner in London.

💬 One phone call later, and Frank’s owner was on a train heading north to collect her adventurous cat — cue the most heartwarming reunion (see the photo 🥹💗).

This is why we scan every pet… and why microchipping matters.

💕 Luna’s Spay Journey 💕 (⚠️Trigger Warning⚠️)

Say hello to Luna, our beautiful Boxer who came in for her spay earlier this month. She was the sweetest patient — calm, cuddly, and incredibly brave throughout. 🐾💖

📸 We’ve shared a little glimpse into her journey:
– A post-op cuddle in kennels with our Senior Nurse Gill (the healing starts with love!)
– A look at her surgical wound, clean and healing beautifully
– And finally, a waggy-tailed visit back at reception for her post-op check — all healed and doing brilliantly! ✅

Spaying is a routine but important procedure that protects against serious health issues and helps prevent unwanted litters. And with lots of care and cuddles along the way, your pet’s comfort and safety are always our top priority. 🐶✨
