🔬 Behind the Scenes: Our Veterinary Laboratory 🩺
Did you know that many of your pet's test results can be processed right here in our practice?
Our in-house laboratory allows us to carry out a wide range of diagnostic tests, helping our vets diagnose illness, monitor ongoing conditions and make treatment decisions much more quickly.
In this series, we're taking you behind the scenes to show some of the equipment we use every day, including:
🩸 Biochemistry – assessing organ function, blood glucose and electrolyte levels.
🩸 Haematology – a**lysing red and white blood cells to help detect infections, anaemia and other blood disorders.
🧪 Urinalysis – examining urine samples for signs of infection, kidney disease, diabetes and much more.
🔬 Microscopy – identifying parasites, bacteria, fungi, ear infections and other microscopic changes.
⚡ EPOC – our newest a**lyser, providing results from just a tiny blood sample in minutes. This is especially helpful for very poorly patients, tiny patients and those requiring regular monitoring.
Having these diagnostics available in-house means less waiting, faster answers and, most importantly, the ability to begin the right treatment sooner when your pet needs it most.
