๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™ Meet Lily ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿพ

Lily became a familiar face with our nursing team after undergoing surgery to remove a large mammary mass.

Unfortunately, her healing journey wasnโ€™t completely straightforward and she required some additional wound care, regular check-ups and lots of support while everything healed ๐Ÿฉบ

Our nurses worked closely with Lily and her owner throughout her recovery, helping monitor the wound and ensuring she stayed comfortable every step of the way ๐Ÿ’™

These photos show the incredible healing progression over time, from the initial complications through to a beautifully healed result โœจ

Weโ€™re so pleased to see Lily now doing brilliantly and back to her happy self ๐Ÿถ

A huge well done to Lily for being such a superstar patient throughout all of her visits ๐Ÿฅน

๐Ÿพ National Microchipping Month ๐Ÿพ

Did you know it is a legal requirement for dogs and cats to be microchipped with up-to-date contact details? ๐Ÿ’™

A microchip is one of the simplest ways to help your pet find their way back home if they ever become lost. However, the chip only works if your details are correct ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿก

Have you:
โœ”๏ธ Changed phone number?
โœ”๏ธ Moved house?
โœ”๏ธ Changed ownership details?

If so, it may be time to update your petโ€™s microchip information!

We can also help check if your petโ€™s chip is working correctly and discuss booking appointments for pets who still need to be microchipped ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

Please contact the practice if you would like any advice or assistance regarding your petโ€™s microchip ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’š Veterinary Nurse Appreciation Month ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿพ

Part 4 of 4๏ธโƒฃ

Veterinary nursing is a career full of opportunity, growth and variety. From clinical nursing and specialist referrals, to teaching, leadership, research and rehabilitation, the profession offers so many different pathways. ๐ŸŒŸ

Veterinary nurses continue to develop throughout their careers, gaining additional qualifications, exploring specialist interests and taking on roles that help shape the future of animal care.

Whether working in practice, supporting students, leading teams or advancing patient care through further study, veterinary nurses play an essential role across the profession every single day. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฐ

As we finish our Veterinary Nurse Appreciation Month series, we want to say a huge thank you to every veterinary nurse and student nurse for the compassion, knowledge and dedication you bring to your patients, clients and teams. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿ’™ Wildlife โ€” Weโ€™re Here To Help ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ

If you ever come across an injured or unwell wild animal, please donโ€™t hesitate to give us a call for advice โ˜Ž๏ธ

Our team can provide initial medical care for wildlife where needed, and we also work closely with local wildlife charities and rehabilitators to help ensure animals receive the ongoing care and rehabilitation they need ๐Ÿฆ”๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Itโ€™s always best to contact a veterinary practice or wildlife rescue before attempting to intervene yourself, as some animals may simply be stunned, nesting nearby or require specialist handling.

Thank you to our lovely team for always helping care for wildlife patients that come through our doors ๐Ÿ’™

โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿพ Itโ€™s warming up! ๐Ÿพโ˜€๏ธ

As the weather starts getting warmer, itโ€™s important to keep an eye out for signs of overheating and heatstroke in pets ๐ŸŒก๏ธ

Heatstroke can become very serious very quickly, especially in:
๐Ÿถ Flat-faced breeds
๐Ÿพ Older pets
โš–๏ธ Overweight pets
๐Ÿ–ค Pets with thick or dark coats

Some simple ways to help keep your pets safe in warmer weather:
๐Ÿ’ง Always provide fresh water
๐ŸŒณ Keep walks to cooler parts of the day
๐Ÿš— Never leave pets in cars
๐ŸงŠ Provide cool shaded areas to rest

If your pet is showing any of the warning signs listed above, please contact a veterinary practice as soon as possible โ˜Ž๏ธ

A little extra care in warmer weather can make a huge difference ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’š World Tortoise Day ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿข

Today weโ€™re celebrating these slow-moving but fascinating little creatures! ๐ŸŒฟ

Tortoises can make wonderful pets, but they do require very specific care to stay healthy and thrive ๐Ÿขโœจ

Some important things to remember about tortoise care:
๐ŸŒž Proper heating and UVB lighting are essential
๐Ÿฅฌ A balanced diet is very important
๐Ÿก They need plenty of safe space to explore
โš–๏ธ Regular weight checks can help monitor health
