🐾 It's International Dog Day 🐾

Here's Merlin enjoying a run on the beach.
He came to us via the RSPCA (England & Wales) in quite a sorry state 😢 He was homed by one of our team, but sadly after only 6 months we found he had a highly malignant, fast-growing, and invasive cancer.
BUT
after emergency surgery, a round of Chemotherapy, and a whole load of love he came through it.

It's very rare for a dog to survive more than 7 months even with chemo, but Merlin is now 3 years clear ❤️

Tell us about your dogs, show us your favourite pics 🐾❤️

Very sad to report that we have had an entire male, adult, brown tabby cat brought to us ... deceased 😭

May very well be a feral cat, maybe a farm cat so just posting incase someone is missing him.

A66 near Sadberge turn off.

RIP fella

The difference in Mouser is mahoosive ❤️

He's getting cheakier by the day, honestly you don't know the effect he has had on us all ❤️

Auntie Flora from Pawsitive Cattitudes Rescue (Yarm) popped in with a toy for him. You can tell he's not used to having toys, it took him a while to understand why there was dodgy looking hen sat with him 😂

Onwards & upwards for this amazing cat 🦁

Ten guinea pig facts

1. Despite their name, they don't come from Guinea
2. They're not related to pigs either.
3. They don't want to live with rabbits.
4. Their odd toe count may surprise you.
5. They need vitamin C (just like humans do)
6. They're fast learners and equipped from birth
7. They eat a special type of their own poo
8. Happy guinea pigs will popcorn!
9. They can lead long lives
10. They like to chat with each other.

Regardless.....they're cute and we loved having these 2 in today ❤️

🐈‍⬛ MOUSER UPDATE 🫶

H E

H A S

P E E D !!!!!!

Urinary catheter - OUT!
Food - of course still going in 😂
Personality - coming out 🌞
Accepting cuddles - yes indeed 🫂
Hissing - just a little bit 😹

As you know Mouser sustained a tail injury just under a week ago (amongst other awful injuries), which resulted in him losing it 😞

Cats with a tail injury sometimes experience some nerve damage, which can lead to an inability to control urination and defecation.

With a little help from some medication Mouser is able to p*e !!!! He's managed the other too!!!

His other wounds are healing very well.
We are so relieved as we have all got so attached to this brave fella ❤️ ...can you tell 😂

This cat has been through hell but certainly now seems to be coming out the other side.

We love him ❤️

Another late in the day update on Mouser.
I spent the morning with him trying to encourage him to eat. He did have a little, but was just too sad and painful to really want to get stuck in.
He did have a little food with Louise who did the afternoon shift with him.
We tried a combination of IV pain relief, but that just seemed to make him feel more sickly.
With some more pain relief and antisickness meds onboard, Terri managed to get him eating a little tonight.
I’m just back from checking him and he has eaten a huge amount.
Tomorrow he will have his tummy scanned and blood tests to check on his kidneys.
