We have no financial targets, our only target is to provide the best care we possibly can. Our Vets have clinical freedom meaning the ability to make decisions about patient care based on their professional judgment, expertise, and the specific needs of the individual patient. You will often see a difference in the prices charged by the different practice ownership structures ie Independent, corporate & joint venture partnerships

Condolences to family & friends 🙏

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robin Blair 🕊️

For over 70 years, Robin has been a beloved greengrocer at Darlington Market, proudly continuing the incredible legacy of his 150-year-old family business, JJ Blair & Sons

As a mark of respect, the indoor market hall will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday 7th July. Please note that the surrounding businesses outside the market hall will be open and trading as usual.

Our deepest condolences go out to his friends, family, and the countless customers he has served over the decades. Robin was truly one of the most gentle and friendly faces to grace our town, and his warm presence will be deeply missed by us all.

Rest in peace Robin. 💚

**update - reunited with owner 🥰**

We have had a female cat brought to us with an injured left back foot and an old right corneal ulcer. The cat is fine and been treated and is chipped but not registered. She is a friendly little lady! If you think she may be yours, please get in touch with the practice on 01325 787370.

☀️🐾 KEEP CATS COOL THIS HEATWAVE 🐾☀️

With the hot weather continuing, it’s important to help our feline friends stay safe and comfortable ❤️

💧 Make sure fresh, cool water is always available. Consider using ceramic or stainless steel bowls and placing them in shady spots. (If you can, leave water out for strays and wildlife too!)

🏡 Provide cool spaces to relax. Cats should have access to shady areas, cool rooms, tiles or cosy hiding places where they can escape the heat.

🌡️ Keep cats indoors during the hottest part of the day, especially between 11am and 4pm when temperatures are at their highest. Closing curtains or blinds can also help keep rooms cooler.

🧊 Cooling mats (without gel), damp towels on the floor and frozen water bottles wrapped in a towel can help provide a cooler place for your cat to rest nearby.

🚗 Never leave cats in conservatories, greenhouses, sheds or parked cars, even for a short time.

✂️ Avoid shaving your cat unless advised by a vet, as their coat helps regulate their body temperature.

⚠️ Know the signs of overheating, including panting, drooling, restlessness, weakness, vomiting or lethargy. If your cat is struggling to breathe, collapses or appears distressed, move them to a cool area, offer water and contact your vet immediately.

A little extra care goes a long way and can make all the difference during the warmer weather 🥰🐾
