Lagertha, the German Shepherd 🌻

Today was Lagertha's second visit to Happy Grooming Studio 💛
During her first appointment we focused on a deep deshedding session and removed a huge amount of loose undercoat.
Today she enjoyed an argan shampoo enriched with vitamin E, followed by a deep conditioning treatment. Her coat is now soft, shiny and feeling much healthier. ✨
With a coat like Lagertha's, regular grooming really makes a difference. It helps keep the coat healthy, reduces loose hair at home and keeps her feeling comfortable all year round.

Pappy is one of the smallest dogs I've ever had the pleasure of grooming 💛
We had a few negotiations today, but in the end he agreed to stand nicely as long as I didn't bring my clippers anywhere near his paws. 🤣
In the photo he's already on his way to the door, looking very pleased with himself because we managed to reach an agreement. 😄

It was Bingo's first visit to Happy Grooming Studio
We worked on much more than just a haircut.
Being on the grooming table is quite stressful for her, so my priority is helping her feel safe and taking things slowly.
Her family understands that consistency is the key, so we already have regular visits planned to keep building her confidence and create positive experiences step by step.💛

Coby is an older dog, he had never been groomed before and has some health issues, so my focus was on his comfort throughout the whole session.
In fact, I was so focused on making sure he felt comfortable that I completely forgot to take an "after" photo 🤣
Coby is a lovely gentleman and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him 💛
If you have an older dog who has never been to a groomer, don't be afraid to give it a try. With patience, kindness and a calm approach, it can be a positive experience at any age.

Today was Barney's very first visit to Happy Grooming Studio and the beginning of his grooming journey.
First visits are never just about grooming. They're about getting to know each other, building trust, and helping a dog discover that the grooming salon isn't a scary place after all.

When I chose the name Happy Grooming Studio , I wanted it to mean more than just a nice haircut or a fluffy coat. 💛
For me, "happy" means a dog that feels safe.
A nervous dog who starts to relax.
A rescue dog who learns that grooming doesn't have to be scary.
A puppy discovering grooming for the first time.
And a family who can see their dog growing in confidence with every visit.
Reading comments like these means the world to me 🌻

Why brushing often matters more than bathing between grooming visits?

Bathing makes a dog smell fresh but brushing is what actually keeps the coat healthy between grooming appointments.

Regular brushing:
✔️removes loose hair and dead undercoat
✔️prevents tangles and matting from forming
✔️improves air circulation to the skin
✔️helps spread natural oils through the coat
✔️makes future grooming visits calmer and easier

Bathing without proper brushing can actually make things worse, tangles tighten, loose hair stays trapped and the coat becomes harder to manage.

💡 How often should you brush?

🟤 Long and curly coats (Cockapoo, Cavapoo, Poodle mixes): every day
🟡 Poodle every 2 days
🟠 Long straight coats (Shih Tzu, Maltese, Yorkie): every 3 days
🟣 Double coats (Labrador, German Shepherd, Husky) every 4 days.
🔵 Short coats: weekly brushing still helps skin and coat health

A well-brushed coat stays cleaner for longer. Feels lighter for the dog and reduces shedding around the house.

Between visits to the groomer, a few minutes of brushing makes a huge difference.

The amount of fur left behind could probably make a few extra dogs 😅

Regular deshedding sessions can make a huge difference for double coated breeds. They help remove loose undercoat, improve airflow to the skin and leave dogs feeling much lighter and more comfortable, especially during the warmer months ☀️💛

A lot of fur on the tablr means happy, fresh and comfortable dogs heading home 🐾✂️

At just 3 months old, this little cutie is already learning that grooming can be a calm and positive experience ✨.
Whether it's a dog or a cat, introducing them to grooming from an early age is key. Regular visits help build confidence, create positive associations and make future grooming sessions much more comfortable and stress free for everyone involved 🐾😏
