Why it’s NOT the same bathing your dog at home 🛁🐶
A professional groom is so much more than just “shampoo and rinse.”
As groomers, we use different shampoos depending on your dog’s: • Coat type
• Skin type
• Sensitivities
• And the result we want to achieve in the coat
Some shampoos are designed to deeply cleanse, some soothe sensitive skin, and others help straighten or relax curly coats to properly prepare them for grooming. Every dog is different, and every bath is tailored to them.
The bathing process itself is also far more detailed than people realise. It’s not about quickly washing the dog — we follow a process to make sure products activate properly and actually do the job they’re designed to do.
Conditioner is also an important step. It helps restore moisture back into the skin and coat, keeping it healthy, soft, and protected.
And then comes drying — one of the biggest parts of grooming. Fully drying the coat is essential for: • Removing loose/dead hair
• Preventing matting
• Fluffing and straightening the coat for an even groom
• Spotting skin issues
• Leaving the coat clean, fresh, and healthy
A professional groom is skilled coat and skin care — not just a bath. ✂️✨
