What a fantastic weekend in the sun at D.S.V.C Deeside Steam And Vintage Club Rally. Fabulous weather and great to have a strong line up of engines.

Special thanks to the Banchory Fire Brigade, its not often a fire engine keeps the fire going but thats exactly what the Barrack Crew needed them for. A fantastic effort in topping up the sentinels water tank!

We look forward now to Laigh O'Moray Vintage Assocation charity weekend on the 26th and 27th of September where we will be set up ready to welcome everyone!

Thanks for coming along to see us and the engines hopefully see everyone soon! Special thanks to club Treasurer Fiona Fraser for keeping the chairman topped up with tea all weekend.

All set for this weekend!

Several members of the club are heading to the D.S.V.C Deeside Steam And Vintage Club Rally that is held adjacent to the Royal Deeside Railway at the Milton of Crathes, near to Banchory this weekend. There will be ten full size steam engines in steam on display.

Set up commences for D.S.V.C Deeside Steam And Vintage Club . If you have a spare 5 minutes, many hands make light work.

We look forward to attending this coming weekend. We might even pay out friends at Royal Deeside Railway a little visit.

2025 RALLY FIELD SETUP

Tomorrow night the work begins for setting up the park for this years rally on the 16th & 17th of August. If anyone has a spare few hours on Monday & Tuesday night this week from 5pm onwards and can lend a hand down at the Milton Park helping setup fencing panels and gazebo’s etc. please feel free to come down, any help is much appreciated!

We will be posting on here throughout the week with information on the rally as the week goes on, at the minute the weather is looking promising for the weekend so fingers crossed 🤞

Heading to the D.S.V.C Deeside Steam And Vintage Club Rally

The team are looking forward to supporting the Deeside Steam and Vintage Club and their forthcoming event at the Milton of Crathes over the weekend of the 16/17th August.

One of the team captured club member James West heading away from Turriff Show last weekend. James’s Roller Buster and accompanying living van will be on display at the Deeside Steam and Vintage Club Rally.

Prize winning commitee members!

James West took his roller to Rempstone Steam and Country Show his weekend and has come away with a prize!

His Roller Buster won a prize

At the Rempstone Steam and Country Show Buster was awarded the James Proctor Memorial Shield, which was originally awarded as the Aveling Barford Trophy, presented by Aveling Barford Limited for the best maintained Aveling and Porter Steam Engine at the Second Lincolnshire Rally at North Hykeham in 1960.

It’s interesting as Buster was the last ever roller to steam at Aveling-Barfords works in Grantham. Where it visited for an open day.

It's glorious at Glamis

Today team BASEC are out and about attending the 49th Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle. The event is organised by Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club.

You can collect a "Save the Date" card from our stand so you can get the date of our 2026 Steam Fair in the diary nice and early.

We're also supporting our friends at Laigh O Moray Vintage Association and have posters and entry forms for their event to distribute.

Do pop in past to say hello. And haud on the suncream it's going to be a scorcher!
