Possibly the poster pooch for a lovey dovey dog, today’s spotlight is on the sweet tempered Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! 🤎🤍🖤

Well known for their gentle faces and pretty curly ears, this breed does tend to be as sweet as they look. 💘

This is great dog breed for first time dog owners as their size and temperament are easy to manage for even the clumsiest of new owners! 🐾

A great example of why dental x-rays are so important! 🦷🩻

Look at how much of the tooth is hidden below the surface — kind of like an iceberg! That’s exactly where this kitty was having trouble. 😿 From the surface level, this tooth looked fairly normal, but underneath the gumline it was rotten and painful. 🙀

This is a big reason why we recommend anesthetic dentals over sedated dentals. Under anesthesia, we’re able to safely perform dental x-rays and extract bad teeth if needed. Cleaning a rotten tooth may make it look nicer, but it doesn’t treat the painful disease hiding underneath the gums. 🪥

Some signs your pet may be dealing with dental pain include reluctance to eat, sensitivity around the face, bad breath, and red or swollen gums. ❤️‍🩹🐾

You’d scratch your ears raw too if you had these little guys crawling around in there! 🕷️👂🏼

This is one of the many ear mites we swabbed from a kitty’s ear, wriggling around under the microscope…just looking at it makes our skin crawl! 🔬🙀

Ear mites are especially common in cats, and one of the biggest telltale signs is dark, chunky debris in your pet’s ears. 🤢 Thankfully, a course of parasite prevention like Nexgard or Revolution will swiftly evict these little buggers! ❤️‍🩹🐾

Getting divebombed by a crow can definitely be scary! Just know that this isn’t exactly an “attack”, more like anxious new parents shooing you away from their nest.🐦‍⬛🪺

The best thing to do is keep it moving! Try to remember the spot and adjust your daily walks or morning bike ride to give these new parents a break.🪶🥚 By July, these poofy little hatchlings will be long on their way to adulthood, leaving their parents as empty nesters- meaning, no more divebombs! 🪹

Happy One Year "Gotcha" Anniversary to our extroverted little greeter cat, Miss. P! 🐾💫

This pretty girl came into our care exactly one year ago! She's settled in quite nicely with us here, and we've become very fond of this fluffy lovebug 🖤🧡🤍🧡🖤

Miss. P can usually be found up front, checking to make sure our food bags are stocked up or waiting for you at the reception desk ☎️🖥️ She works very hard to make sure everyone feels welcome, and we appreciate her very much! 💖

YAY!! We're over the moon 🌙💛

We have the best news this morning, Knox is home from the emergency hospital and doing so well. ❤️

The vets determined that Knox had a bacterial bladder infection. Thankfully, the bleeding has stopped, and while he still has a bit of trouble straining when he pees, he is absolutely moving in the right direction.

He’s back with his foster family, playing with the resident dogs, and most importantly, he’s a happy puppy again. Seeing him feeling like himself has been such a relief.

We are so grateful for the support from our amazing community during stressful situations like this. Every message, share, and donation means the world to us and helps us continue saying yes to dogs in need. If you are able to contribute toward Knox’s care, we would be incredibly thankful.
