There’s a method behind all the tail wags 🐾
Ever wondered what your dog’s day actually looks like here? We do things differently.
Here are some of the questions we get asked most often:
Q: What is enrichment at dog daycare?
A: Enrichment is a mix of activities that will provide stimulation to both brain and body. This includes brain games, toy time, water activities, spray parks and micro training.
Q: What is micro-training?
A: Micro training are short, small bursts of obedience and skill development drills such as boundary training, group recall & basic obedience drills. The training is designed to help reinforce at-home manners, and to help them learn and develop good manners at daycare.
Q: Do the dogs just run around all day?
A: No. Mornings are enrichment and free play. Mid-day is a quiet time with soft music and dim lights. Afternoons are structured, with micro-training and more enrichment activities.
The consistency and structure of our daily routine is how dogs learn best, and helps them to become calm and confident in daycare.
Q: Are your staff experienced?
A: We have a team of dedicated staff, plus myself, all with Canine First Aid and lots of experience. Check out our About Us page on our website at urbancanineadventures.ca to learn about who we are.
Q; How many dogs do you have each day?
A: Our pack is growing! Our focus however is to maintain small, carefully managed groups. Dogs are grouped based on their personality, play style and size. Our daily enrollment will always be significantly lower than other daycares to ensure the safety of the dogs in care, to ensure success of micro-training & enrichment and to create a happy and harmonious environment for your dog.
We would love to get to know you and your dog. At Urban Canine Adventures, our dogs and clients feel like family, and we love being part of the Vernon community.
