KENNEL COUGH REMINDER – CLIENT NOTICE
It’s that time of year again! We’re starting to see cases of kennel cough in our community, and we want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of kennel cough prevention and precautions.
We’ve recently had a few dogs come forward with symptoms, so we’re asking all of our clients to be extra mindful and keep an eye on their pups.
What is kennel cough?
Kennel cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection that spreads easily between dogs through coughing, sneezing, direct contact and contaminated surfaces or shared items.
Common symptoms include:
• A dry, hacking or honking cough
• Gagging or retching, sometimes producing foam
• Sneezing or a runny nose
• Mild lethargy
• Reduced appetite
What should you do if you suspect your dog has kennel cough?
If your dog develops any of these symptoms, please:
• Keep them home from daycare and other dog-friendly environments.
• Contact your veterinarian for guidance.
• Let our team know if your dog has been diagnosed with or is suspected of having kennel cough.
• Avoid bringing your dog back until they have fully recovered.
Our return-to-daycare policy
To help protect all the dogs in our care, any dog experiencing kennel cough symptoms must remain away from daycare until they have been completely symptom-free for a minimum of 14 consecutive days (two full weeks).
This means no coughing, sneezing or other respiratory symptoms throughout that period before returning to daycare.
We understand how inconvenient it can be when your pup has to miss their daycare days, but these precautions are incredibly important in helping prevent further spread.
A little prevention goes a long way!
We appreciate everyone doing their part by monitoring their dogs, keeping sick pups home and communicating with our team if symptoms arise.
Thank you for helping us keep our Fun4All family happy, healthy and wagging! 💛
