French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, meaning their shortened airways can make breathing more challenging — especially in heat or during exercise. They’re also prone to skin fold irritation and infections. Regular exams allow us to monitor breathing, skin health, and weight to reduce strain.

Kimbo is the perfect example of how helpful pre-visit pharmaceuticals can be 💙🐾

At today’s visit for his wellness check, repeat bloodwork, and routine subcutaneous fluids for kidney monitoring, this sweet boy was so relaxed he needed to rest on Nana’s hand the whole time.

Not long ago, we couldn’t even get close without a little growl but look at him now! Progress like this makes us so proud. At home, Kimbo is a total softie who loves cuddling with his brother and sister 🥰

Kimbo brings the best energy to the clinic… just like his mom ✨

Maine C***s are one of the largest domestic cat breeds and their size comes with specific health considerations. They are predisposed to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a form of heart disease, as well as joint concerns due to their larger build. Routine wellness exams, heart monitoring, and mobility assessments help us detect changes early and support long-term comfort and heart health.

A hunched back. Tense abdomen. Reluctance to move. Teeth grinding.
These subtle signs can indicate significant abdominal pain. Pets instinctively hide discomfort, so posture changes are often one of the first clues.

If something about your pet’s stance looks “off,” trust your instincts. When in doubt, give us a call at (604) 738-5683.

Labrador Retrievers are wonderful family dogs but they’re also prone to weight gain and joint conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia. Maintaining a healthy weight and monitoring mobility early can significantly reduce long-term strain on their joints. Regular exams allow us to track changes before discomfort becomes obvious.

Say Geronimo! Geronimo came in to see us after developing bloody, mucoid diarrhea and a very upset, grumbly stomach. This little Chihuahua had already had a rough start recently, including a hospital stay after testing positive for parvo, so his family was understandably worried.
A few weeks later, Geronimo returned for a recheck after another bout of tummy trouble that started shortly after trying a raw food meal. Thankfully he was bright and stable, and we were able to help him feel better with fluids, anti-nausea medication, and supportive care.
The good news: Geronimo is a tough little pup and bounced back like a champ 💪🐾 He’s now doing really well at home and back to enjoying life.
Best of all, he’s reunited with his sisters Penelope and Pickle, and the trio are celebrating in style with their matching sweaters 🧣💕
