Meet Squid 🦑✨

This adorable kitty is in need of a loving home! We estimate that he is 1-2yrs old, he's fully vaccinated and neutered already. He gets along with both dogs and cats alike, although we would recommend a feline friend that is more active and playful as Squid is a bundle of energy 🤭

He's currently being fostered right now, but if anyone is interested in adopting him, please reach out to our team and we can set up a chat with the foster 🖤

Did you know that today is National Black Dog Day?
This day was created to recognize the fact that black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues ❤️‍🩹 We want to encourage everyone on this special day to see beyond a simple color and recognize all the wonderful, adoptable black dogs waiting for a loving home 🖤

To celebrate the stunning beauty and loving nature of our pets with beautiful black coats today, pop a photo in the comments if you have a black dog so we can show them some love! 🥰

Staff Pets: Kam and Sofia 🐶🐶

Introducing the cutest doggy siblings ever - Kam and Sofia! While they might look similar, they're personalities are quite the opposite.

Kam is the older brother of the two 🤓 He is the protector of the treatment room - if a stranger comes in, he'll make sure to alert everyone! He is very particular about who makes it into his inner circle, so if he graces you with his attention, you should definitely feel very special 🤭 His favourite things in the world are his pawrents, walkies, and food - in that exact order. You'll always find one of the staffs sneaking him a little bit of his favourite fruit, the banana 🍌

Sofia on the other hand is a social butterfly! 🦋 She has never met a person or dog (or any animals really) that she doesn't like 🥰 She's the Queen of naps, and her favourite time at the clinic is lunch time when all her favourite people are eating in the back and she can snuggle up to them for snacks and cuddles! 😴

Staff Pet: Licorice aka "Licky" 🐈‍⬛

Coming back from a long hiatus with our staff pets posts, we're gonna follow the void kitty theme and kick it off with Ms. Licorice! This little lady has lived many lives and is currently 19 years old 🤯 . We think her love for her two human siblings is what keeps her chugging along 👶
She is a vocal and sassy lady that will tell you exactly what she thinks! And her favorite things to do is lounging in the sun and "people" watch (aka her family). Did you know she's also great with dogs? She knows her boundaries very well and we love a lady that will lay down the law!

Licorice belongs to our hospital manager, Ashleigh! We do wish Licky would grace us with her presence more, but at her age? She can do whatever she wants 🤭

Staff Pets: ✨ Todd, Oscar, and Ruby! ✨

Do these superstars even need an introduction?

Just in case you need it, Oscar is our majestic English Setter, Ruby is the fabulous bichon mix, and Todd is our adventurous kitty that thinks he's the REAL owner of the clinic 👀..

The Armstrong trio belongs to Dr. Sarah, and if you live in Olympic Village you will most likely see her walking Oscar and Ruby to JJ Bean for her morning coffee! Don't be surprised if you're blinded by Ruby's beauty - she ALWAYS looks like she just came from the salon 💅🏻. And you definitely can't miss Oscar's multitude of swag gears and shuffle if you see him on the streets 🕺🏼

You might get a glimpse of Todd wondering around the hospital (when he manages to slip out front to visit his ladies at reception 😎) or the treatment room - he's very good at being a void kitty and uses it to his advantage. He's also a pretty funny guy (if you can't tell from his photos already!), and he gets along with all of our staff dogs, but if you bring another cat near him then you get to witnessed him then into a poofy fluffball! 🐈‍⬛

If you ever want to meet the 3 musketeers, dont hesitate to ask Dr. Sarah! Both Oscar and Ruby LOVE meeting other dogs and especially puppies, and if you're very very lucky, the "owner" Todd might grace you with his presence 😮‍💨

✨ New Series Alert! ✨
It's time to introduce the staff pets 🐶🐱

We're kicking it off with Dr. Emily's pets!
Ms. Kiki (the beautiful diluted tortie) has followed Emily through her veterinary schooling in Montreal, was there when she met her husband, and moved multiple provinces with her before landing in Vancouver.

Piña was adopted as a puppy once Dr. Emily put down her roots here, and she has flourished from a timid girl to an adventurous pup! We are so proud of how far she's come with her shyness.

As you can see from the photos, both Kiki and Piña go on hikes with their parents and are not strangers to travel. On the rare occasion that Dr. Emily can't bring them on her trips, the rest of the staff at OVVC will fight over who can petsit the girls for them! 🤣
