Ticks are all year round! 🤮

And unfortunately they are carriers or "Zoonotic Diseases" which means that they can spread infectious pathogens between human and animals.

This is why we always recommend parasites preventions that can either prevent the Ticks from attaching and feeding on your pet, or by killing them on contact. These products can also come in oral or topical form, whichever your pet prefers! Did you know that most fights that occur at dog parks are due to one dog not respecting the boundaries of another?

Of course we never want to see that happen so we're not saying you can’t teach an old dog new tricks 🐶, however this is also why we emphasize setting boundaries during puppyhood! While they are young, it’s the best time to teach them what is and is not okay to do, for their own protection as well as your peace of mind.

That's why when you book your first puppy appointment with us, our doctors spend 45 mins answering all your questions and teaching you how to raise a healthy, socialized and respectful pup (bonus points that your puppy will get their first cuddles- I mean socialization from our staff!) 🥰

🪥 Whenever your pets come in for an appointment, one of the things we do is check their dental hygiene. While we understand the idea of having your pet under anesthesia can be scary, we would like to dispel some beliefs regarding anesthetic free cleaning! When your pet is in the hospital with us, they are constantly being monitored by a team - while they're under anesthesia, and once they're awake. We also want to make sure that your pet has an enjoyable time while they are with us so they never have to be scared for their next visit. With Valentine's day coming up, we wanted to make a PSA to all the couples out there! 💐

Flowers are beautiful but when buying your significant other a bouquet on special days, make sure to check and see if there are lilies hiding in there. While lilies are mostly toxic to cats, there are some lilies out there that can cause vomiting and diarrhea, abdominal pain, seizures, and slowed heart rates in dogs as well.

If ingestion ever occurs and you're not sure whether the flower is toxic or not, take a photo or bring the flower with you to the vet and let us know when and how much was eaten!

Now that it's getting ✨frosty✨ we want to make sure that everyone know what to look out for if you're worried your pet is frostbitten!

If you suspect that they are, move your pet to a warm and dry area quickly and safely. NEVER put direct heat on the affected area, and do not rub/massage it! You CAN carefully warm the affected area with warm (not hot 🔥) water; You should be able to comfortably put your own hand in the water.
