Why Older Puppies are the Underdog Heroes You've Been Waiting For

So, you want a puppy … BUT, you're also kind of into sleeping past 5am, keeping your shoes maybe chew - free, and maybe not potty-training in your favorite slippers.
Good news: older puppies are the sweet spot between baby chaos and grown up chill.
5 month old lab shep mix Britt, Jasper and Jeremy still bring the zoomies, the snuggles, and the goofy charm - but they've already figured out a few things. Like how to sit (sometimes), how to go potty outside (usually) and how to melt your heart (always)
They are past the tiniest baby stage, but still impressionable and eager to learn. They are ready for adventure, a little awkward but a whole lot adorable … and ready to be someone's best friend.

URGENT: Little Guy needs Big Help!

Little Guy has been through more than any dog should. This happy, gentle young mastiff mix boy, came into our care after being attacked by a pack of dogs, and suffering serious injuries. He now needs a $2800. Orthopedic surgery to relieve his pain and give him the chance to live a full, happy life.
To add to his already ruff start, Little Guy has been diagnosed with heartworm, which will again come with significant costs, but for now, relieving his pain is our primary focus.

Right now, he’s hurting — but with your help, there’s real hope.

We’re asking our community to come together for Little Guy. Whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this post, every act of kindness brings him one step closer to healing.

Our handsome little kitten, Han, was excited to tell everyone about the Let's Do Lunch with Red & Ko fundraiser taking place on May 13th. What a feel good story.

Ms. VanVeldhuisen, an art teacher at Northern Collegiate, inspired her students by choosing one of our adoptable animals as part of their observational drawing unit, practicing their charcoal techniques, focusing on blending and creating values. Look at these very detailed and adorable portraits!

"It has been an incredible learning experience for them, as they were not only able to hone their artistic abilities but also connect with a meaningful cause. What makes this project even more heartwarming is that, as we started the drawings last Monday, several students were thrilled to find out that the animals they had chosen were adopted soon after" - Ms. VanVeldhuisen -

What better time of the year to train a puppy. Right now we have brothers, Jeremy and Jasper, that are two of the smartest puppies we have ever met. They are about 4 months old and Lab/ Shepherd mixes, they will be bigger, handsome boys when full grown.

This little fun-lovin’ gal has been extremely well socialized and has the best manners, thanks to Katie and her incredible team.
The Fox & Hound Canine Retreat team have been instrumental in helping us place hundreds of moms and pups into great homes over the years and we are grateful to have them as part of our foster family network. ❤️
