MAGGIE MAE – THE SWEETEST LITTLE RAY OF SUNSHINE!

If happiness had four paws and a wagging tail, her name would be Maggie Mae!

Meet Maggie Mae, an absolutely ADORABLE 4-month-old sweetheart who is ready to steal your heart and become your new best friend!

This little girl is quite possibly one of the SWEETEST puppies you will ever meet! Maggie Mae has a heart full of love, a personality full of sunshine, and a tail that seems to have a permanent case of the wiggles! She's just happy to be here, and her joy is absolutely contagious!

Since arriving in her foster home, Maggie has wasted NO time making herself part of the family! She's fit right in with her three foster siblings and is learning all about the wonderful world of playing with grown-up dogs. She's soaking up everything they teach her and having the best time doing it!

And can we talk about what a SMART little cookie she is?!

Crate training? She's already sleeping peacefully in her crate ALL night!

Potty training? Pretty much nailed it! Not a single accident in her foster home, and she knows exactly where to go outside!

Other dogs? Absolutely! She's loving life with her three foster siblings!

Kids? She's had some exposure to young children and did AMAZING!

Cats? She hasn't met any yet, but with proper introductions and boundaries, we think she has great potential!

🐾 Home alone? Maggie has been doing well spending a few hours in her crate while her foster family is at work, with a midday potty break!

Honestly, what more could you ask for?!

Of course, Maggie Mae is still just a baby, so she'll need a family committed to continuing her training, helping her grow, and showing her all the wonderful things life has to offer.

But with her incredibly sweet nature, happy-go-lucky attitude, and impressive puppy manners, this little gem is already off to an AMAZING start!

Maggie Mae isn't asking for much. Just a family to love, a cozy place to sleep, some fun adventures, and a lifetime of belly rubs and snuggles!

KEEPING YOUR PETS SAFE THIS HALLOWEEN!

Halloween is an exciting time for kids (and adults too!), filled with costumes, candy, spooky decorations, and lots of fun!

But while we're enjoying all the Halloween festivities, let's not forget about our four-legged family members!

For some pets, Halloween can be downright TERRIFYING! Strange people showing up at the door, unusual costumes, loud noises, and all the extra excitement can quickly become overwhelming.

Here are a few tips and tricks to help keep your furry friends safe and comfortable this Halloween!

KEEP YOUR CATS INDOORS!
Please make sure your cats are safely inside from early afternoon on Halloween until the following morning. With all the extra foot traffic, noise, and excitement, even the most confident outdoor kitty can become frightened or disoriented.

LEAVE YOUR DOGS AT HOME!
While it might be tempting to bring your pup trick-or-treating, consider leaving them safely at home. Costumes, excited children, flashing decorations, and unfamiliar noises can be overwhelming, even for normally social dogs!

CREATE A SAFE SPACE!
If your pet gets nervous around strangers or loud noises, consider setting them up in a quiet room or their kennel (if that's where they feel comfortable). Add their favourite blankets, toys, and maybe some background music or a TV to help drown out the noise.

WATCH THOSE DOORS!
With trick-or-treaters coming and going, doors will be opening A LOT! Make sure your pets are safely secured so nobody makes an unexpected escape. Even pets who would normally never run out the door can react differently when frightened.

KEEP THE CANDY OUT OF REACH!
Halloween treats are for humans, not pets! Chocolate, xylitol (found in some sugar-free candies), raisins, and certain other treats can be extremely dangerous for animals. Don't forget to keep candy wrappers out of reach too!

BE MINDFUL OF DECORATIONS!
Candles, electrical cords, fake cobwebs, and small decorations can all pose risks to curious pets. Battery-operated candles are a much safer option around those wagging tails and curious whiskers!

DOUBLE-CHECK THEIR IDENTIFICATION!
Make sure your pet's microchip information and ID tags are up to date, just in case they manage to sneak out during the excitement.

REMEMBER: THEIR SAFETY AND COMFORT COME FIRST!

Halloween should be fun, but our pets don't always understand what's going on around them. A little extra planning can go a long way toward keeping everyone safe, happy, and stress-free!

PING & PONG

Two best friends, one forever home!

Meet Ping and Pong, two sweet boys waiting for their happily ever after at Curious Tails in Blackfalds!

These boys share a special bond and are looking for a family who will open their hearts and home to both of them together.

Ping is the more outgoing of the two. He helps show his best buddy that the world isn't such a scary place and gives Pong the confidence he needs to come out of his shell.

Pong is the shy one who looks to Ping for comfort and reassurance. Having his best friend by his side helps him feel safe enough to let his personality shine.

Together, they're the perfect reminder that sometimes the best friend you need is already right beside you. These boys deserve a forever home where they can continue growing, gaining confidence, and making memories together.

FERAL & SEMI-FERAL CATS LOOKING FOR HOMES!

Next Chapter Animal Rescue has feral and semi-feral cats looking for suitable homes!

But what’s the difference between feral and semi-feral? Let us explain!

Feral Cats: These cats have had little to no positive human interaction and are generally very fearful of people. They may hide, run away, or prefer to keep their distance rather than be touched or handled. They are often most comfortable in an environment where they can feel safe without being expected to interact closely with people.

Semi-Feral Cats: These cats may have had some positive experiences with people or may be starting to learn that humans can be trusted. They might still be shy, nervous, or hesitant, but with time, patience, consistency, and gentle interaction, they may become more comfortable around people.

Can they become friendly cats? Absolutely, some can! With time, patience, and someone willing to work with them at their own pace, some feral and semi-feral cats can learn to trust people, accept affection, and even become loving companions. Every cat is different, though. Some may become friendly house cats, while others may always prefer a more independent life. There are no guarantees, but giving them a chance can make a world of difference!

All cats are:
✔️ Spayed/neutered
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Dewormed

Adoption fee: A minimum donation of $50 per cat.

IMPORTANT HOME REQUIREMENTS

These cats need adopters who understand their unique needs and can provide a safe, suitable environment.

A minimum of 4 weeks of secure confinement is required when they first arrive at their new home. They must be kept safely indoors or in a suitable, secure enclosure where they cannot escape. This adjustment period helps them become familiar with their new surroundings, recognize where their food and shelter are, and begin associating the location with home. Releasing them too soon can cause them to panic, run away, or attempt to return to their previous territory. Some cats may need longer than four weeks before they are ready.

A heated shelter is mandatory throughout the winter. They must have access to a warm, heated place to live during the cold months.

Daily access to food and fresh, unfrozen water is essential, all year round.

These cats may be suitable for appropriate barn or acreage placements, provided their shelter, food, water, veterinary care, and overall needs are met.
