The calls for help never stop, and every adoption truly saves two lives — the life of the dog joining your family and the life of the next animal we can welcome into rescue when that space opens up.

Our dogs and puppies are looking for loving, committed forever homes where they can finally belong.

HELP US KEEP UP WITH THE LAUNDRY!

Did you know that we do approximately 15–20 loads of laundry every single day at Next Chapter Animal Rescue?

Between dog blankets, cat bedding, towels, kennel pads, and everything else that comes with caring for homeless animals, our laundry room is constantly running. Every load uses laundry detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets, and we go through supplies much faster than most people realize.

Our trusty washing machine is still hanging in there, but it's definitely showing its age. While we can't stop the laundry from piling up, we can ask for a little help keeping the shelves stocked!

Meet Wazzy!

Wazzy is a little guy with a big heart... it's just going to take him a little time to show it to you.

When Wazzy first arrived, the world was a pretty scary place. New people, new environments, and new experiences can make him nervous, and he's still learning that not everything is out to get him. While he is friendly and wants to be near his people, he's not quite convinced that all this touching business is necessary. Think of him as more of a "look, don't pet" exhibit for now.

Wazzy's favorite thing in the world is people. In fact, he likes them so much that being left alone can be difficult for him. He is working through some separation anxiety and would love a family that can help him continue building confidence. He's also still polishing up his house manners and crate training skills. He's been known to leave a few surprise "business cards" around the house, particularly when it comes to marking, but he's already been fitted for a fashionable belly band to help him along the way.

Wazzy will need to be groomed fairly regularly (we will include a picture of him before his hair cut).

Interestingly, while many dogs dream of having canine best friends, Wazzy is fairly indifferent to other dogs. He currently ignores his doggy housemate and would much rather spend his time keeping tabs on his humans.

The best home for Wazzy will be one that understands that progress doesn't always happen overnight. With patience, consistency, and lots of encouragement, he continues to make small victories every day. Watching him gain confidence and learn to trust is incredibly rewarding, and we know his perfect person is out there waiting to cheer him on.

If you're looking for a project pup with a sweet soul and don't mind earning his affection one step at a time, Wazzy just might be your guy.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a square in our Tiny Teefies Raffle! Because of your support, we are one step closer to helping our kitties get the dental care they need and deserve.

Cat dental surgeries can be expensive, but thanks to our amazing community, we can continue providing healthier, pain-free futures for the cats in our care.
