My customers often tell me they never knew a knife could be so sharp. Comparing a Laser Sharp edge to a factory edge is like comparing a Formula 1 car to a bicycle. They are not the same.
Now that I hopefully have your attention, I charge $8 a knife. Repairs, higher hardness steels and other blades tools may vary. Other professional sharpening services charge between $20 and $30 per knife. And no, Iโm not talking about the guy who drives around in his van with a belt grinderโฆ Again, not the same. Nothing against belt systems, but heat is a concern when dealing with tempered steel. Since professional knife sharpeners are few and far between, thereโs usually an additional cost, and thatโs shipping.
โWhy are your prices so cheap?โ
Most knives take me about 5 minutes to sharpen. Harder steels can take up to 15 minutes. Over the last few years, quality came first, then speed. Iโm not interested in turning a fast profit. What Iโm looking to gain is lifetime customers.
My process;
Each knife is sharpened to the exact same standards. I use a spinning, water-cooled whetstone system called the Tormek T-8. The Tormek is widely regarded as the best sharpening system available on the consumer market. This removes damaged steel and forms a new edge bevel. Once the edge is symmetrically apexed, I use a progression of polishing pastes and compounds to de-burr, hone, and polish the edge. I pay attention to small details that most of my customers will never notice. The end result is a knife sharper than most razor blades, which are ground at thinner angles (about 10ยบ). Because of the high polish, the edge will stay sharp longer, maximizing the life of your knives. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the quality of my services, I offer a NO QUESTIONS ASKED FULL REFUND policy.
As always, thank you for your business.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
