We’ve got a quick update on keeping your pets on schedule with their care! 🐾
Starting this August, we’re relaunching Virtual Vet appointments and we’re so happy to share that a familiar face, Dr. Melanie Mercer, is back to help lead the way!
For those who’ve been with us a while, you might remember Dr. Mercer (AVC class of '07!). She joined our PAH team back in 2011, and even after moving to France, she’s continued coming back every summer to care for your pets. She is currently taking virtual appointments to make sure your animals get seen quickly without having to wait weeks on a booking list.
How does it actually work?
◼ These are still IN-PERSON visits right here at the clinic. You and your pet come in as usual, and one of our awesome Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) will be in the exam room running the hands-on physical exam, taking vitals, and giving vaccines. Dr. Mercer is right there on the screen for the entire duration of the appointment to examine your pet alongside the RVT, answer your questions, and direct treatment in real time.
It’s a fantastic fit for things like routine wellness checks, puppy/kitten boosters, ear issues, allergy consults, mild tummy troubles, and follow-up visits.
A few quick things to keep in mind:
◼ It’s just a bridge option: Booking a virtual slot now doesn't lock you into virtual visits forever. You can jump right back to standard appointments for their next visit
◼ No long wait times: It helps keep vaccine schedules and recheck appointments on track when our in-clinic schedule is packed or vets are away on leave.
◼ Hands-on, continuous care: You aren’t left figuring anything out on your own—our RVTs are right by your side, and the doctor is on the call with you the entire time.
