Today is National Rescue Dog Day!

Did you know that over 35,000 dogs enter rescue shelters and humane societies each year in Canada alone? Many of them end up there at no fault of their own, or are depending on a second chance to help them thrive. Whether you're looking for a playful puppy, a mellow senior, a purebred or a wonderful mixed-breed, the chances are a shelter will have your next best friend that will always give you unconditional love!

This is the lovely miss "Pumkin", who was a rescue dog and came in for a dental! She is so wonderful!

When Jones came in for radiographs as part of his orthopedic exam, we immediately spotted something that didn't look right...a sizable rock in his stomach!
We attempted to make him vomit it up, but had no luck. We had to bring out the big guns (endoscope) and the fantastic Dr. Chloe Mariani came in on her day off to help retrieve the rock from his stomach before it became a gastric foreign body, which would require emergency surgery. This was not an easy task, but our surgery team pulled it off without breaking a sweat!
