‼️🐾Jan 23 Update
We have not had any reported sighting of the dog all week, now that the weekend is here lots of people will be out and about again and hopefuly we get a sighting. We are still on standby.
January 19 Update
We have not had any new sightings. This weekend was very busy in the area, and he is a very timid dog.
We are working to clear the area of excess people and dogs. We currently have trained volunteers doing scheduled stakeouts, feeding stations and water set up, and the local community members who have seen him most are keeping watch.
We know people want to help, and we truly appreciate the support. However, the more people in the area, the lower our chances of securing him. When he feels pressured, he goes into flight mode, flees, and hides.
🚫Please do NOT approach this dog if you see him.
🚫Please do NOT put food out. We have food placed only in designated areas.
If you see him, call us 250-505-9604 immediately. This allows us to bring in the trap and cameras once we confirm he is returning to our established safe/work zone.

If this dog was indeed intentionally left here by you I'm sure it was a very sad day and awful decision to make. I'm deeply sorry for whatever you are going through! We at Mountain Shark K9 are willing to set up a safe anonymous drop off crate for your dog in a safe location if you the owners are watching this post, feel free to reach out and contact Mountain Shark K9 at 250-505-9604 you can anonymously drop your dog off in the crate and we will take him in. Please reach out. Your name will be kept anonymous. We will set up at a location you choose, we will ask everyone to leave the area where you can go in the night under the darkness to retrieve your dog and bring him to a location of your choice. FYI MSK has a several successes in finding lost dogs with anonymous tips and they have kept everything 100% confidential even under the intense pressure of the public wanting answers💕or if you are not in the area to do this please reach out to us to provide information on your dog that will help us secure him or her? NAME? Fav food? Likes and dislikes, literally anything that will help get him contained and into safety!
2.January 18/26 ‼️UPDATE‼️ We are currently waiting for a sighting, unfortunately, there was a lot of action in the area today, and the dog has been pushed up the highway quite far away from where the mattress location is. We have one volunteer doing a stakeout this evening in hopes to see the dog come back to the mattress area. We need to keep everything quiet out there as he is incredibly timid and in flight mode, seeing and smelling humans and other dogs is going to keep sending him further away and out of a safe area, we can trap him in. We are asking people not to pursue him and simply just reach out and let us know where he's been sighted. If you happen to get close to him lay on the ground and don't look at him. Definitely don't look him in the eyes and just wait it out and see if you can build curiosity in him to come and see you. Thank you.
