Veterinary Appreciation Day is celebrated every year on June 18 to honor the hard work, compassion, and dedication of veterinarians, vet technicians, and clinic staff.
Today is a day to show gratitude for the team that keeps your pets healthy through everything from routine checkups to late-night emergencies.
Veterinarians and their teams manage an immense emotional and physical load. They navigate complex medical mysteries with patients who actively try to hide their symptoms (a survival instinct in many animals). They also manage the humans attached to those pets—explaining complicated diagnoses, delivering difficult news, and helping families make agonizing end-of-life decisions with empathy and grace.
It is easy to look at veterinary medicine and see a dream job filled with playful puppies and purring kittens. While those moments exist and are deeply cherished, the reality of the field is uniquely demanding and exhausting.
Our team are always learning, always finding ways to better help you and your beloved pets. Here's Dr. Meyer with two of her veterinary technicians ,Alex and Crystal, attending some training in Alberta so that they they can learn new skills to keep up-to-date and offer your pets the best possible care.
So let's all take a moment to appreciate the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at every veterinary hospital all over the world. Because a little bit of gratitude goes a very long way. 👏💗
