Slab fractures like this one are typically caused by trauma from chewing on something hard. Avoid bones, antlers or anything that you can’t make an indent in with your fingernail.

Our customer service team have so many roles they manage to juggle everyday!

Veterinary reception is not “just answering phones.”

It is emotional triage.
It is operational control.
It is being kind when people are rude.
It is being precise when everything is moving at once.
And somehow still smiling through all of it.

That is not “just reception.”
That is skill.
That is labor.
That is intelligence.
That is leadership.

The Vet CSR exists because this role deserves to be seen clearly.

What’s an FNA?! A FNA is a fine needle aspirate. This is a procedure where we use a small needle to aspirate cells from a mass or lump and look under the microscope. This is an example of a lipoma which is a benign fatty tumor. Its always helpful to confirm what masses are if possible and prior to removal so we know how best to remove then as well as for prognosis and monitoring.

Meet Morty and Helix! We’ve been seeing these little guys since they were both wee puppies. Morty is almost 8 years old and Helix is 6. Continuity of care is so important and we truly value building these long lasting relationships with our clients.

What is that?!

This is a retained deciduous (baby) canine tooth. As you can see it results in junk (hair, fabric from toys, food etc) accumulating between the permanent adult canine and the retained baby tooth. This can lead to damage to the adult tooth.

We see this most commonly in small breed dogs and dogs with malocclusions which results in teeth erupting in the wrong location.

What’s the treatment? Extraction!
