🏔️ Planning a mountain adventure with your dog this summer?

BC’s trails offer incredible views, but a little preparation can make the experience safer and more enjoyable for your four legged hiking buddy. Before you head out, pack plenty of water, check trail conditions, bring waste bags, and make sure your dog is physically ready for the adventure ahead.

Keep an eye out for signs of fatigue, overheating, or sore paws, and don't forget to take regular breaks along the way. A pet-ready adventure is a safer adventure for everyone. 🐾

Is your dog ready for hiking season? Contact Langley Meadows Animal Hospital to schedule a wellness check and help ensure your next outdoor adventure starts on the right paw.

Planning a weekend trip to Historic Fort Langley? Your four-legged family member can join the adventure.

Fort Langley National Historic Site welcomes leashed pets on the grounds. Walk the same paths fur traders once traveled, with your best friend beside you.

Pet-friendly highlights:
- Outdoor historic buildings tour
- River trail walks along the Fraser
- Picnic areas with shade
- Heritage village streets for exploring

Remember: Keep pets leashed, bring water, and pack waste bags. The heritage buildings have restricted pet access, but the outdoor experience is rich with sights and smells.

Fort Langley offers history for humans, adventure for pets. Both leave with memories.

Before you head to Willowbrook Shopping Centre this week, test the pavement with your hand. If it's too hot for you to hold for 5 seconds, it's too hot for paws.

BC summer temperatures can make pavement reach 150°F even when air temperature is just 86°F. Your pet's paw pads can burn in seconds.

Quick pavement test: Place your palm flat on the surface. Can't hold it for 5 seconds? Find grass, carry small pets, or wait for cooler hours.

Walk early morning or evening when possible. Those Willowbrook parking lots get scorching by midday.

Protect those paws. Your pet trusts you to keep them safe.
