Happy Thanksgiving from Avon Animal Hospital! 🦃🐾

Thanksgiving dinner is full of delicious treats, but some holiday favourites can be dangerous for our pets. Foods containing chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, and certain desserts can pose serious health risks to dogs and cats.

As you gather around the table with family and friends, keep food out of curious paws’ reach and avoid sharing leftovers unless you know they’re pet-safe. A little extra caution can help keep your furry family members happy and healthy throughout the holiday.🍂

If your pet eats something potentially harmful, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Our team is here to help you determine the next steps.

Concerned about something your pet ate? 📞Call Avon Animal Hospital at +1 (604) 532-7600 for guidance.

Rainy days can be fun for dogs, but all that moisture can create the perfect environment for skin irritation, hot spots, and yeast overgrowth. 🌧
After wet walks, take a few extra minutes to dry your dog thoroughly, especially around skin folds, paws, and other areas that tend to stay damp. A little post-walk care can go a long way toward keeping your pup comfortable this season.

Save these rainy-day care tips for your next wet-weather walk. If you notice persistent itching, redness, odour, or irritated skin, contact Avon Animal Hospital for guidance.

Your pet may look perfectly healthy, but some health concerns can develop quietly without obvious symptoms. 🐾
Regular wellness exams give your veterinarian a chance to monitor changes, catch potential issues early, and keep your pet on track for a healthier life.

Prevention isn’t just about treating problems, it’s about staying ahead of them. ❤️

🍂🐾 Harvest season brings plenty of beautiful changes to the Fraser Valley, but it can also bring new risks for curious pets. Fallen fruit, seeds, and wild mushrooms can be tempting to dogs, especially along trails and around Fort Langley.

Not every mushroom or fallen fruit is safe to eat, and some can cause serious illness. Keep your dog close, discourage scavenging, and avoid letting them investigate or eat unknown plants, mushrooms, or fruit during your walks.

A little extra awareness can help keep your fall adventures safe and enjoyable. 🐶🍁

Heading out around Fort Langley this fall?
Save this reminder and share it with another pet parent. If your pet eats something unknown or potentially toxic, contact your veterinarian promptly.

September shedding is here! 🐾🍂
As pets transition toward their winter coats, you may notice more fur around the house. Regular brushing, a balanced diet, and routine grooming can help keep your pet’s coat healthy and comfortable.

If shedding seems excessive or comes with itching, bald patches, redness, or skin changes, it may be more than seasonal shedding.

Noticing a change in your pet’s coat? 🐶🐱 Contact Avon Animal Hospital to schedule a wellness check.
