Leptospirosis cases in dogs are on the rise in British Columbia.

Valleyview Veterinary Clinic feels it is important to protect your pets and your health. It is zoonotic disease meaning itcan be transmitted to humans.
The most common mode of transmision is indirect, where a mammal comes into contact with contaminated water.

We are now recommending in accordance with the AAHA guidelines leptospirosis vaccine is now part of the core annual vaccine protocol.

Leptospirosis vaccine requires a booster in 3-4 weeks, followed by a recommended annual booster.

If you have any questions about the vaccine or you have recently come in for an annual exam and your dog did not receive the leptospirosis vaccine. Please give us a call.

We will be open Saturday for food and RX pick up only. There will not be a doctor in the building this day. To ensure our team can have a proper lunch break we will be closed from 12-12:30 this day. Thank you for your understanding.
