Meet Emerson, she’s as sweet as she is adorable! Emerson was in for her spay surgery with Dr. Wuhr, and we’re happy to report she did wonderfully throughout her entire visit! 🐾

We have big news!!!

We are thrilled and very proud to introduce Dr. Kyla Wuhr, who has officially joined the team here at Timberlea Animal Hospital!

Originally from Minto, New Brunswick, Dr. Wuhr knew she wanted to become a veterinarian from the young age of four! She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island before earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005.

After graduating, she spent her first two years practicing small animal medicine in Ontario before making her way back to the East Coast. She has been caring for pets and their families in HRM since 2008 and brings over 20 years of experience to our team.

Dr. Wuhr has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and is passionate about mentoring veterinary students, educating clients, and building meaningful relationships with both pets and their people.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two very handsome cats, Simon and Sully. 🐾

Tick season is already well underway, and we’ve seen a significant increase in Lyme disease cases this year across Nova Scotia. 🦠

If your dog spends time outdoors (even just on walks!) screening is strongly recommended. EVEN if they are on prevention. Your pet can’t tell you when something feels off or they feel unwell. 🐾

We’re having a 4Dx Testing Clinic on Friday, May 29th from 10am-6pm!

A 4Dx test is one simple blood test that screens for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, while also checking for heartworm disease.

Appointments are limited, so give us a call to reserve a spot! 💙

We love a happy ending! 💙 🐾

Meet Luna! This beautiful indoor girl managed to slip outside on the evening of April 29th and was missing for two very long weeks.
Thankfully, with the help of a humane trap, she was found!

Not knowing where Luna had been or what she had gone through during her time away, her family brought her straight to us for an assessment.

Luna received a full physical exam and a complete diagnostic workup, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and X-rays. Aside from mild malnutrition and dehydration she was thankfully found to be in good health!

After lots of love and cuddles, supportive care, and a nutrition plan to help her regain her strength, Luna was discharged and able to go home with her family.

We’re happy to report she settled in quickly; purring, making biscuits, and chasing her toys like she never missed a beat! 🐾

Here you can see Luna having a cozy nap while waiting for diagnostics, and of course getting lots of extra cuddles from our Hospital Lead, Jenn. (she received snuggles and love from our entire team, she certainly stole all of our hearts!)

We are so happy Luna’s story ended the way it did, and could not be happier for this sweet girl and her family! 💕

Meet our wonderful Lead Client Care Specialist, Jacklyn!

Jacklyn is often one of the first voices you hear when you call us, and one of the first faces you see when you walk through the doors here at TAH. She is as kind as she is compassionate, always going above and beyond for both our clients and patients.

On top of all that, Jacklyn is one of the biggest team players you’ll ever meet and is an incredible support to our entire team.

Born and raised in the small community of Terence Bay, Jacklyn has always had a passion for client care and a huge love for animals.

In her free time, she enjoys making memories with her family and daughter, Olivia, swimming, boating, and spoiling her two cats, Orange and Brown.

She’s really great!! We are so fortunate to have her on our team!
