It is not just you. It has been a very wet start to the spring in southern Ontario. With most parts of the region receiving over 150mm and some areas along Georgian Bay getting double that!

Most farmers are already late getting into their fields. Cross you fingers for some dry days ahead or this will disrupt and impact harvests later this fall.

Due to overwhelming interest we have opened another day next week to volunteer seeding and potting up in the Bovey greenhouse.

It’s a great way to take a break from the books to get your hands dirty.

The GCUOF accomplished a lot this season.
+100 student volunteers
10 connected courses
10,000lbs produce grown
$3000 of produce donated
We saved seeds, and reduced food insecurity at our sliding scale market.
We are very proud of all the work students were able to accomplish.

This beautiful red tailed hawk landed only 3m away as we were cleaning up. Probably to see if we had scared any critters that would make a perfect spot of lunch. A truly special moment to be so close to this wild one.
