👻 HAPPY HOWL-O-WEEN! 👻

Halloween is all about spooky costumes, trick-or-treating and sweet treats, but remember Halloween candy is for humans, NOT our furry friends! 🍬🚫

Chocolate, lollies and other sugary treats can be harmful and even toxic to pets. Even a little taste can cause problems, so please keep all Halloween goodies safely out of paw's reach!

Instead, spoil your four-legged family members with some pet-friendly treats and plenty of cuddles. ❤️🐶

Let's keep Halloween fun, safe and spook-tacular for everyone!

🎃 From all of us at WCVH, have a happy and safe Halloween! 🎃

🐍 Would you know what to do if your pet had been bitten by a snake? 🐍

Snakebites are a serious emergency for both dogs and cats. Knowing what signs to look out for could make all the difference.

Symptoms can develop quickly, but may not always be obvious straight away.
Some signs to watch for include:

🐾 Sudden weakness or lethargy
🐾 Wobbliness or difficulty walking
🐾 Vomiting or excessive drooling
🐾 Trembling or muscle twitching
🐾 Collapse or difficulty breathing

🚨 Suspect a snakebite? Don't wait and see.

Keep your pet as calm and still as possible.
Carry them if you can, to minimise movement.
Seek emergency veterinary attention immediately.
Don't wait for symptoms to appear or worsen.

Time is critical when it comes to snakebites. Even if your pet seems okay after a suspected encounter, they should be assessed by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

A little awareness can go a long way in keeping our furry family members safe.

🐾💗 Big paws, bigger things to come! 💗🐾

Sweet little Moose came in for her final puppy vaccination, weighing in at a whopping 11.2 kg! 🥹🐶 As a gorgeous Rottweiler girl, we have a feeling she’s going to grow into one very BIG girl!

For now, Mum and Dad could still scoop her up and pop her onto the examination table for her check-up, but we have a sneaking suspicion that next time Moose might be a little too big for that! 😂

We’ve loved watching this beautiful girl grow so far, and we can’t wait to see her blossom into the big, beautiful Rottie she’s destined to be.

Keep growing, Moose ...just maybe not too quickly! 😉💕

Keeping your indoor cat free from fleas and worms 🐱🪰 is just as important as it is for outdoor cats. Even strictly indoor cats can pick up parasites through other pets, visitors, or insects 🦗. Regular parasite prevention protects your cat’s health and your home.

If you’ve purchased parasite protection through us, our system can tell you if your pet is up to date. Give our friendly reception team a call 📞 6288 4944 to check your cat’s schedule and make sure they’re fully protected year-round 🐾.

Stop everything… Antino has arrived! 😻💕

This handsome little man came in for his appointment looking extra dapper in his funky jumper, and let’s just say… our nurses’ hearts didn’t stand a chance! 🥹💗

With his adorable outfit and irresistible kitten charm, he had everyone wrapped around his little paw. 🐱 Who knew a vet visit could come with this much cuteness?!

The hospital had a special little native visitor 🥹😍

A member of the public kindly brought in a baby brushtail possum, we gave this little one a check-over to make sure they were doing okay before arranging their collection by ACT Wildlife. 🌿

We’re happy to have been able to help get this little one into the right hands! A big thank you to the kind member of the public who took the time to help. 💚🐨
