🚨 Reminder to check that your pet's microchip information is up to date!
With the recent closure of the Homesafe ID microchip registry, we are urging all pet parents to check where their pet's microchip is registered to & that the contact details are correct. This is important so you can ensure your pet is reunited with you if they ever go missing.
🔸 In the ACT, your pet must be registered with the local council. This can be done with Access Canberra.
Information can be found here:
https://www.cityservices.act.gov.au/pets-and-wildlife/dogs/dog-registration
🔸Your pet's microchip should also be registered with a nationwide microchip registry to ensure that regardless of where you travel, your pet can be scanned and details accessed. We recommend using either the Australasian Animal Registry (AAR) or Central Animal Records (CAR).
If your pet was microchipped by us, they will be registered with AAR. If your pet was microchipped elsewhere, you can check where they are registered by inputting their microchip number into Pet Address:
https://www.petaddress.com.au
🔸Please check that the contact details on the registry are correct and up to date. Please note: we cannot update details on your behalf, you will need to contact the registry directly.
🔸If your pet's microchip number does not come up on a current register, you are unsure what your pet's microchip number is, or you would like assistance with this process - please contact our team on 02 6147 5577 or [email protected] for advice. We can also scan your pet's microchip if you bring them in.
