Presented for lumpectomy procedure to remove. After clipping the long fur it turned into a different story.

FUR or FOREIGN body??????
Just a 3 years old female Maine C**n was presented with abdominal discomfort, one of vomiting and off food, painful belly.
Fur like material was suspected in radiographs. Cat was sent home with some laxative with a hope that it should pass within 24 hours. The aim was to avoid surgery for fur which I never did for fur obstructions.
Unfortunately, it didn’t pass and poor Maine C**n deteriorated tremendously. Ultrasound after 24 hours confirmed that fur has not moved to large intestine. Emergency surgery was suggested to save the integrity of obstructed loops.
Cat is back to normal after 10 of surgery.

LESSON: FUR can cause life threatening gastrointestinal tract obstructions.
