We’ve had some baby possums brought in recently, reminding us that wildlife sometimes needs a helping hand.

If you find a baby possum on its own, avoid feeding it or attempting to care for it yourself. Contact a local wildlife rescue or vet clinic for advice on the next steps. 💗

After a freshen-up, she couldn’t leave without a selfie 🐶🩷

Happy Vet Nurse Day!

Today, we’re recognising our amazing nursing team and the important role they play in caring for our patients.

From assisting with procedures and monitoring patients to supporting clients and working alongside our vets, our nurses are an essential part of the clinic.

A special thank you to our nurses who work across both Avondale Heights Veterinary Hospital and Maribyrnong Veterinary Clinic for their hard work, dedication and everything they do for both teams! 💗🐾

This Smokey boy came in for a dental recently 🦷😸

He was monitored throughout the procedure and recovery and did really well! Bonus points for being so cooperative with everything we did.

Mr Bosco came in for an ultrasound, where a foreign body was found in the gastrointestinal tract. 🐶😱

An exploratory laparotomy was performed to remove it, and thankfully, he’s now doing well and recovering nicely.

A good reminder that if your pet is showing signs like vomiting, reduced appetite or lethargy, it’s worth getting them checked early.
