Braidwood Carnival 2026

Amelia asked Sam during the week if he would sign up and play inbetween her and Sophie as Amelia really wanted to have a weekend playing the 3 position. A position she hadn’t got to play a whole weekend in for a few years. Amelia also asked to have a run on Asar Blue Bell. Sophie played the 1 position on Asar Lady A to start the weekend but had to finish the weekend on Asar Rhapsody. Sam rode Asar Shine in the middle. Francis rode Asar Tisha in the 2nd Canberra section and played her in the 3 position for the mares first time out back.
The Canberra team won 1 game and lost 3 by 2 goals.
SJ had a run on Asar Golden Gaytime and stepped up a gear.

Sam had the privilege of presenting Les with his Honorary Life Membership of the ASHS at the recent AGM in Melbourne.

Congratulations to Les Fraser from Warwick in Queensland who was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the Society at the 2026 AGM.
Les has demonstrated an exceptional level of dedication, commitment, and service to both the Australian Stock Horse and the sport of polocrosse. He has been a tireless advocate, ambassador, and promoter. His contribution extends well beyond participation, encompassing leadership, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of the sport and the promotion of the Australian Stock Horse, both nationally and internationally.
Les’s pivotal role in initiating, bringing to fruition, and hosting the Polocrosse World Cup, was instrumental in delivering an event that showcased the very best of the sport while highlighting the versatility, athleticism, and quality of the Australian Stock Horse on the world stage.
Les said he was humbled to receive Honorary Life Membership and to be included alongside the 68 Honorary Life Members who have come before him who have made lifetime contributions to the breed and the Society. He also said that the award is a wonderful recognition for polocrosse and the contribution of the ASH breed in the sport.

All 3 kids were selected to represent the Southern Highlands zone at the recent NSW Zone Championship held in Bungendore.
SJ played Asar Paparazzi in the 2nd Sub Junior team and made lots of new friends.
Initially the girls nominated on their back up horses for nationals so that their National selected horses were fresh for travel but even with the postponement we thought they could give different horses a run.
Sophie played Asar Golden Gaytime in the 1st Sub Junior team and came away as Best 3 for the weekend. Thanks to the organisers and sponsors of the sub Junior jackets, the kids love them.
Amelia played Asar Sangria in the 2nd Junior team, 5 girls and Rhys. They made it to the championship Junior final coming up against the Southern Highlands 1st Junior team made up of the boys. The 1st chukka was fast paced with Cameron from the SH1 throwing 7 goals and Amelia throwing 5 in 8 minutes! Unfortunately the girls came away as runners up.
