Perry and his very unwelcome plus-one! 🐶🔬

This gorgeous mini dachshund visited us at the beginning of the week after his owner found and removed a tick from his ear following a recent trip away.

Perry’s owner brought the tick along too, so our vets could take a closer look under the microscope. Thankfully, Perry was well at his check-up, and the tick didn’t appear to be a paralysis tick. 💙

A big well done to his owner for spotting the little hitchhiker and bringing Perry in to be checked! 🐾
Take a look at the microscope footage of Perry’s unwanted friend… 👀

Be sure to keep your pets parasite protection up to date and if you are unsure of the best option to use then please call and speak to one of our knowledgeable nurses or vets, we are always here to help.

Preventative care is always best!

That’s a wrap on Vet Nurse week! Thank goodness the nurses had some delicious treats to keep them going! A busy week relieving life threatening urinary obstructions, detective work to find undescended testicles and many more things! Special thanks to Pudding Pudding & Ember for the very thoughtful vet nurse week cookies delivery too ❤️

Poppy popped in for her vaccinations today and absolutely stole the show 🌸💉 Looking this well dressed and behaving every bit as beautiful as she looked — what a little sweetheart! 💕🐾

We’re loving those colourful ears too 🌈 Just a little reminder for anyone wanting to look as good as Poppy, if you fancy adding a pop of colour to your pup, always make sure any dye used is specifically dog-safe. 🐶✨

Meet the lovely Lola 🐱💙

Lola recently had a cystotomy with us — surgery to open the bladder and remove a bladder stone. And this one was definitely hard to miss… just look at the size of it! 😳🪨

Bladder stones can cause discomfort, straining to urinate, blood in the urine, and in some cases, potentially dangerous urinary blockages.

Thankfully, Lola was an absolute superstar throughout her stay and is now recovering with plenty of rest, cuddles and TLC. 🥰🐾

Wishing you a smooth recovery, Lola! 💙

Our brave patient from today!

He came in for a Dental, X-Rays and some lump check ups. Max was a wonderful patient and the team very much enjoyed caring for him!

We wish him a restful recovery tonight and look forward to his next visit with us.

Well done Max

Bad breath isn’t just “dog breath” 🦷

Dental disease is really common in both dogs and cats, and pets can still eat normally even when their mouth is painful.

Things to watch for include bad breath, red gums, tartar, drooling, chewing differently or dropping food.

If something doesn’t look or smell quite right, it’s worth getting checked!

For peace of mind, we offer free dental checks so give us a call to get your dog or cat booked in.
