Did you know that cats affected by arthritis usually won’t limp? 🐈

Instead, these creaky kitties will often show more subtle symptoms, such as:
🦴 A reduced ability to self-groom, which may lead to changes in their coat condition or cleanliness
🦴 Difficulty squatting for toileting, which may lead to occasional misfires out of the litter tray
🦴 Hesitancy prior to jumping down or up

If you notice any of these signs in your mature feline friend, have a chat with us regarding easy options for supporting joint health and comfort.

Did you know that the prominence of your pet’s eyes can change due to certain conditions? 👀

A dog’s or cat’s eyes may become more sunken or deeper set:
✅ As they age and lose some of the fatty tissue behind their eyeballs
✅ If they become very dehydrated
✅ If they have a painful eye condition that causes reflex retraction of the eyeball
✅ If they develop a nerve condition called Horner’s syndrome

If you spot any changes in your pet’s eyes, it’s always best to have our eye-sperienced vets take a look!

We need another vet so told Claude AI that we need to find one. AI decided it must be like Where's Wally and came up with this image.

If you know a vet looking for work in Bunbury and Eaton, please let them know we have an opening for a full-time vet with at least 2 years' experience.

BUNBURY & EATON VET CLINICS
Experienced Veterinarian (minimum 2 years’ experience)
Full-time. Bunbury & Eaton, Western Australia

About the clinics
Bunbury & Eaton Vet Clinics are the longest established veterinary practice group in regional Western Australia, serving the Bunbury, Eaton, Australind, Dalyellup, and broader South West community. We’re an independent, two-site practice built on old-school values and a genuine commitment to best-practice care — with clients who travel over two hours to see us.

Our experienced team of vets, nurses, and support staff has cultivated a family-like atmosphere that our clients feel the moment they walk in. We’ve recently welcomed a Registered Specialist Surgeon to the practice, expanding our referral capability and the range of advanced procedures available on-site — and we’re continuing to grow.

The opportunity
We’re looking for a small animal veterinarian to join our team on a full-time basis. We ideally seek someone with 2 years of experience to join a large team of 12 vets with a wide range of interests and levels of experience. As a group, we encourage case-collaboration and can assure team support. Whether you’re relocating to the South West or ready for a change, we’d love to hear from you — we’re flexible and happy to have an informal, confidential chat.

What we offer
• Competitive remuneration above award rates
• 4-day week (4 × 9.5 hr days)
• Saturdays on a shared roster (8:30am -12pm)
• CPD support — we invest in your development
• Access to a Registered Specialist Surgeon on-site
• Genuinely supportive, team-focused culture
• Opportunity to develop special interests

Our facilities
• Colour Doppler ultrasound
• Digital radiography & endoscope
• Dental radiography
• Surgivet anaesthetic monitoring
• Arthroscopic & laparoscopic surgery capability
• Advanced orthopaedic & soft-tissue surgical equipment
• Access to a local CT scanner

About you
• Registered (or eligible for registration) to practise veterinary science in Western Australia
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and client communication
• Positive, team-first attitude — even on the tough days
• Committed to high clinical standards and ongoing learning
• Capable of working independently and sharing after hours on call/ hospital patient roster
• Adaptable and comfortable working across two sites

Life in Bunbury & the South West
Bunbury is WA’s second-largest city — a coastal lifestyle hub less than 2 hours south of Perth. Think year-round sunshine, world-class surf breaks and wine country at your doorstep, and a tight-knit regional community. It’s a genuinely great place to put down roots, raise a family, and build a career — without the grind of a capital city.
Interested? Let’s have a chat.
Send your CV and cover letter to Dr Josie — all enquiries treated confidentially.

A single vomit in an otherwise bright dog isn't always alarming. 🐾 However, multiple vomits, or vomiting accompanied by other symptoms, are a cause for concern.

If you observe multiple vomits, lethargy, blood or abdominal pain, contact the clinic for advice. Vomiting can be caused by an infection, toxins, foreign objects or underlying disease, and shouldn’t be ignored. 📅 Arrange a consultation with our vets if you're concerned.

If your dog has eaten something toxic, stay calm and act quickly. ⚠️ Identify what they ate, how much, and when, as this is critical information for your vet. Do not induce vomiting at home unless directed by a vet.

Common toxins include chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, xylitol, certain plants and human medications.

Call the clinic immediately, or the Animal Poisons Helpline after hours. 🚨
