🌼 This morning, we shared a morning tea for R U OK? Day.
Taking a moment to check in, to listen without judgment, and be present with one another can make a real difference - not just today but all year round. Today is a gentle nudge to embrace empathy, openness, and the courage to ask how someone is actually doing.

Despite his struggles with urinary issues, beautiful Etienne was the sweetest, smoochiest boy during his stay with us.

We had the absolute pleasure of caring for him while his family were away, and monitored him closely after his multiple unblocking procedures.

Eti showered us with enthusiastic headbutts and cuddles—however we recognised that he was still uncomfortable when toileting and needed a more permanent solution.

Eti was booked in for a Perineal Urethrostomy, a procedure which was partially covered by the CCV Angel Fund. The Angel Fund was able to assist with costs beyond what Etienne’s insurance would cover.

We’re now thrilled to share that he’s now back home with his beloved family, living his absolute best life once again!

Want to know how you can help support the Angel Fund? Give us a call or pop in and see us!

Everyone say "Hello there!" to Obi-Wan Kenobi! This little Jedi showed us some very cute tricks in today's consult with Dr John.
We're unsure if it was The Force but we felt compelled to fall in love with him either way. 🩷🐈

Pixie (one of Dr Thea’s cats) just turned 13 and celebrated in style—with a gourmet treat! And don’t worry, safety first: the flame was watched closely, and Pixie blew it out like a seasoned whiskered wish-maker! We’re still wondering what she wished for… Eternal naps? Bottomless treats? 🎉😻🩷

Hello Cat parents! Hills Science Diet has just recently changed their z/d and i/d formulas.
If your cat is on either of these prescription diets, we would advise doing a 7 day transition onto the new diet to avoid any upset tummies!

UPDATE - The new versions will have slightly different markings on the bags. The updated Z/D bags will have a pink Active Biome + Digestion symbol on the bags, and the updated I/D bags will have a blue flag in the top left corner that indicates it is formulated for adult cats (when looking at the bag). Of course, if anyone has any questions, you are welcome to contact the clinic for more clarification on 6251 1444.

📢 PetChip Scam 📢

We’ve been made aware of a scam targeting pet owners via email, falsely claiming that their pet’s microchip registration has expired. These emails appear to come from Petchip and may include the pet’s name, microchip number, and other personal details to make them look legitimate.

📣Microchips and their subscriptions do not expire.

The Dog and Cat Management Board of SA has confirmed there has been no data breach of the official Dogs and Cats Online database and advises that genuine emails from them will never include that level of personal information.

Unfortunately, we do not have further information at this time but advise that you:

❌ Do not click on any links or provide personal details in these emails.

❗️Contact the local council if you are unsure of any communications you receive.

Yesterday was Black Cat Appreciation day, so we absolutely must share our favourite black cat, Annie! 🖤🐈‍⬛

Annie came to the clinic 10 years ago when she was just a little kitten with a broken leg.
She had a procedure with Dr Kate to fix her little leg and then found her forever home with our team!

Now Annie is known for sunbaking in reception, trying to eat prescription foods she doesn't need and getting stuck in the airlock for attention when she says its dinner time.

Not only is Annie a fantastic companion, but she's also helped our team save lives!
When called for, Annie acts as a donor for faecal transplants and had also previously been a blood donor for cats in need.

Now that she's hitting her senior years, Annie has mostly retired from the hero life and instead spends her days hanging out with her one true love, Dr Alice. 🩷
