We also work closely with selected rescue associations , giving horses in need a second chance . These are some of the questions we have just recently been made aware are not visible on our pages . Firstly let me just apologise I thought I had posted information but I myself cannot find it . Firstly Circle J Horsemanship is

a small family based business located in a small rural town of Balliang East ( located between Bacchus Marsh and Geelong )

6 months ago Orin decided to take the risk and decided to follow his passion and listen to so many opinions and start his own Equine Training business . Over the years Orin has helped so many people and there horses with small or large problems and always offered advice stepped on there horses or had a chat with the owners about possible methods to help them . Where did Orin come from . Well Orin James is 39 year old dedicated husband and father of two . Orin since the age of 11 learnt the art of team roping where he after many of nights riding his bike 15 km after school to watch other rope he was given the opportunity to learn , with the help of a family and his dedication he quickly became recognised as very competitive junior. At the age of 15 Orin was a very high money earner in open and junior competition Australia wide and was asked to leave junior competition and compete in the open category which he did and remained competitive

From then Orin has remained competitive in his chosen field taking him interstate and internationally. Since Orin was 18 years old he watched and worked with many of reputable horse trainers learning the ways of the horse , this is where Orins passion for training horses began . After many of years working as a welder the opportunity arose for him to take the risk and become a horse educator FULL TIME

Orin will only take 6 horses to work with at one time to ensure every horse has the RIGHT start . This can be anything from groundwork , starting a horse under saddle , problem solving or the competitive rope horse . Orins James methods helps any horses for any chosen discipline

A NEW DIRECTION FOR CIRCLE J HORSEMANSHIP

Over the years, we have received so many messages from followers, friends and people who have been recommended to us, all asking the same question…
“Do you know of an honest horse for sale?”
And more often than not, our answer has been:
“I’m sorry, we don’t have anything at the moment.”
The simple reason is that Circle J has always been so busy training outside horses that we haven't had the time or space to concentrate on producing horses of our own.

After a lot of thought, Orin and Hayley have decided it’s time for Circle J to take a new direction.
We want to focus more of our time on what we believe there is a genuine need for — honest, correctly educated horses looking for the right homes.
No frills.
No fancy sales pitches.
No trying to make a horse something it isn't.

Just honest horses with honest assessments, given the time and training they need before being offered for rehoming.

Our goal will be to source suitable horses, bring them into the Circle J program, get to know them properly, educate them and work out exactly what type of home and rider they are best suited to.
Some may be quiet pleasure horses.
Some may suit competition homes.
Some may need experienced riders.
And occasionally we might find that special hard-to-find horse that suits someone wanting something safe and uncomplicated.

We will tell you exactly what we believe each horse is — the good, the bad and everything in between.
We won't be taking these horses to sales or auctions.

When a Circle J horse is ready to find its new home, it will be advertised right here on our page first.
We know how many people are out there looking for that genuine, honest horse and struggling to find one.
So we think it's time to put our experience into producing more of them.

A little change is coming to Circle J Horsemanship… and we're pretty excited about it.

If you have been a follower of Circle J for quiet some time you will remember this face .

Everytime Rochelle sends us an update on Checkmate it brings a smile to our face.

Checkmate came through the RSPCA as a wild lady many would have turned their heads and walked away . Checkmate took months and months of work and still when leaving us required a confident owner to continue her journey but she made it .

With the support of the RSPCA and Circle J and Rochelle . Checkmate found her way to happiness .

What a success this team is .

We know they are both headed to big places and we are so greatful to Rochelle for keeping us posted .

Checkmate stole many of hearts and still is ❤️❤️❤️

Ps Rochelle’s young daughter even rides Checkmate now it’s just an incredible story .
