A huge congratulations to Illiana and her beautiful mare Princess on an outstanding performance at the PCAV State Eventing Championships! 🏇✨

Competing in a strong Grade 4 field, Illiana and Princess rode brilliantly to finish in an impressive 6th place individually — a fantastic achievement at such a high level of competition.

To top it off, Illiana was also part of the winning Grade 4 team, GMRB Riders, who took home 1st place! 🥇

So proud of the dedication, teamwork, and horsemanship shown throughout the championships. A wonderful result for both rider and mare — congratulations Illiana & Princess! 💙

Huge congratulations to my student Maya Whalen and her horse Archie on their efforts at the State Horse Trials in Grade 3!

What an incredible weekend for this combination — sitting in 3rd place after a beautiful dressage test, then moving up into 2nd place following a fantastic show jumping round. Unfortunately an unlucky stop at the water on cross country dropped them back to 14th place overall, but the determination, riding and partnership they showed all weekend was something to be incredibly proud of.

A massive achievement also for Maya and her team placing 8th overall in the John Barlee Perpetual Shield.

You represented yourselves, your team and your supporters so well. Excited to watch what the future holds for you both — well done Maya & Archie! 🐴✨

Huge congratulations to my student Idelia and her amazing pony Casper on an outstanding performance at the PCAV State Eventing Championships! 🏆

Idelia took out 1st place in Grade 5, as well as winning the Optimum Time Award — an incredible achievement at such a prestigious event.

A massive congratulations also goes to her team, Sisters & I, for winning 1st place in Inter One Grade 5! 👏

Idelia and Casper performed beautifully all weekend and should be so proud of the way they represented Central Zone and their Pony Club. Their hard work, determination, and partnership truly shone through.

So incredibly proud of you both — what a fantastic result! 💙🐴

Older riders are some of the happiest and healthiest people I know.
🐴 They are active. Strong. Flexible. Balanced — in the saddle and in life.

For many of them, riding isn't just a hobby. It's the reason they stay fit. It's the reason they get up early on a cold morning and drive to the barn with a smile on their face. It's the thing that keeps their mind sharp, their body moving, and their heart full.
And here's what I find so beautiful about it:

The older the rider, the more they seem to truly savor it.
The smell of the barn. The feel of their horse exhaling underneath them. The quiet of an early morning ride before the rest of the world wakes up.

They have earned every single one of those moments. And they know it.
Riding doesn't just keep older riders in the saddle. It keeps them alive in the best possible sense of the word.
