Funny story time with Hazel and Uncle Dom in Clifton Hill:
Out for a wander yesterday to tackle 5 km's (as we have a 1 km increase each day) while Uncle Dom is in town.
We find Prince's Park and decide to do a circle to meet other dogs and their owners along the way. The thing I love about Hazel is she is no-nonsense around other dogs, while their getting active and vocal, Hazel is super chill and doesn't react, just maintains her composure. Basically like Uncle Dom at the best/worst of times.
Now an older woman is approaching us and she has 2 smaller dogs off lead. 1 of her 2 dogs is just barking the place down and really making his voice be known to everyone in the place around us.
Suddenly, this woman reaches down, lifts up her left foot and removes her shoe to pretend to throw it at the dog. This dog, myself and Hazel all react and move away as if mama was gonna give us a hiding like we got back in the 90's! The woman loses it at us all and is on the ground laughing.
"I was never gonna throw it, it's just a tactic I use to keep this dog quiet!" She says at the end of her breathless laughter.
To which I reply, "Miss, you know i'm 42 years of age, Hazel here is about 4 years old I think, maybe 5, and you've just hit a trauma reaction/pain i've never felt in about 30 years. The way we all ducked down, including your dog, almost gave me my youth and household vibes when my mum wasn't in the best of moods. Now I love my mama, but let's not have that happen again for another 30 years please!"
We all pass each other crying and laughing, and then Hazel gave me a look like "Bro, this woman is crazy can we go home now?"
Have an amazing Friday and keep it sane and humane out there 😆😅🤣🥰🙌🏾
