The Animal Welfare Society Helderberg is a registered Non Profit Organisation. There are 28 paid staff members and a small team of volunteers who help with the day to day running of
the kennels. There is also a charity shop located off-site. The kennel hosts a facility for strays and surrenders. The facility
also includes a veterinary division and is situated in Gordon’s Bay. The AWS Helderberg ha

s a mobile clinic which hosts primary care and operates in Macassar, Eerste river, Tarentaal Plaas, Nomzamo and Sir
Lowry’s Pass, plus various locations in between and at reasonable request. A small inspectorate investigates complaints and assists in collecting sick animals for treatment and then returning them home. Sterilization is high on the agenda of the AWS Helderberg. AWS Helderberg is a proud member of the Cape Animal Welfare Forum.

Chello is the most handsome 8-9 year old boy that has been surrendered to our kennels. He is the sweetest gentleman, who gets on very well with dogs, cats and children! He is an extremely affectionate, well behaved, well socialized and beautifully natured boy. He is really easy going, not demanding and doesn't ask for much at all. He must be a very special family member and sleep inside the house at night! He will be your very loyal companion and unconditionally loving friend. He really adores humans and always welcomes us into his camp with a big smile and tail wag! He will always return the love 10 fold and be by your side, making sure you feel loved! Skollie is a very handsome 6 month old boy that has been surrendered to our kennels. He gets on well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them! He is a very happy, friendly, contented and playful dog with a lovely personality and a gentle soul! He has a beautiful heart and will fit in extremely well with any family. He is a gem and it's such a pleasure to spend time with him! He needs a good sized garden, a warm bed inside the house at night and daily exercise! He will make a very special family pet and awesome companion! He is always smiling, with a wagging tail and sparkly eyes, and he has a really positive attitude! He loves people so, so much and will do best in a home with canine or human company during the day. He loves his treats and yummy food! He is such a delight and will always brighten your day! Molly is a very beautiful young girl that has been surrendered to our kennels. She is a smallish dog and stands under the knee. She gets on very well with other dogs and loves people of all ages! She is awfully sweet natured, very friendly and loves to spend time with us! She is very playful and affectionate, and she adores being cuddled and loved! She is a precious soul who will make a very special companion and family pet! When we enter her camp she always gives us the biggest smile and tail wag! She must sleep inside at night and she will do best in a home where she has canine company during the day. She is a gentle girl with a beautiful soul who loves to be close to her human. Gigi a female rottweiler is looking for her forever family.
She is sterilised and vaccinated. Gigi is around 4 years old.
This precious girl’s owner had to relocate and she was surrendered to be homed responsibly.
Gigi is a very loving dog who enjoys human companionship. She can be homed with an established dog with a calm demeanor.
We have two qualified behaviourist reports that will be sent to the adopter.
Introductions will be overseen.
This affectionate girl will thrive in a family setting, she loves children.
Gigi is not doing well at the kennel, she misses having a loving home.

Norris is a very cute and handsome male pup that has been surrendered to our kennels. He is 10 weeks old and will be a medium size when fully grown. He gets on very well with other dogs, is great with cats, and loves people of all ages including children. He is super playful and thoroughly enjoys his toys and treats. He is a very sweet natured, fun, friendly and affectionate puppy with a beautiful temperament and a kind heart. He needs lots of attention, puppy training, a good sized garden and daily exercise. He must go to a home where someone is at home during the day and has the time to care for him and give him lots of guidance! He must be a special part of the family and sleep inside the house at night. He will make an incredibly special companion and beautiful family pet. He will be ready to go home on Wednesday. Snake season is upon us. Please read the article. Anti venom is usually not kept by our local vets (cost and quick expiry turnover both being a problem), so check timeously with your local vet in case they do stock. Failing that, you will need to approach the bigger hospitals (TAH / Panorama etc), should your animal be bitten.
