During a community outreach, we spotted sweet Wubbly Bubbly with wounds and scars on his legs. His owner told us he had been in a motor vehicle accident but was unable to get him to an animal hospital.

We brought him back with us, cleaned and stitched his wounds, and also sterilised, dewormed and treated him for parasites.

His owner was so grateful that his dog received the care he desperately needed 🐾💙

A heartfelt thank you to The Salvation Army Bonteheuwel Educare for your generous Mandela Day donation of blankets and pet food. Thank you for caring for both the children in your community and the animals who depend on kindness like yours.

We were honoured to spend our 67 minutes with Happy Tails Langa during their Mandela Day initiative, handing out pet food, treating dogs for ticks and fleas, deworming pets, and sharing love with the animals of Langa. Every wagging tail was a reminder of the amazing work Happy Tails Langa does for township animals. 💙🐾

Home isn't always four walls.

Some of the happiest, most loved animals we meet live alongside their owners on the streets. While they may not have the comfort of a house, they have something just as important—love.

These are the families who are close to our hearts. Through our community outreach, we assist with sterilisations, vaccinations, tick and flea treatment, and nutritious food to keep tails wagging.

Meira was overjoyed to see our team when we visited her home alongside one of the busy roads in our area. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. 🐾💙

With heartfelt gratitude, we would like to thank Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and the City of Cape Town for their generous funding, through the Mayor's fund we are able to sterilise animals from indigent households in our area.

Your commitment to supporting animal welfare organisations is making a real difference, especially to the animals who are so often overlooked.

Thanks to your support, these are just some of the animals who have already benefited since the start of the sterilisation project. Together, we are improving the lives of the animals who bring so much joy to ours while helping to create healthier communities for the future.

Dax is happy to be back home where he belongs, and his family couldn't be happier to have him back.

During one of our routine community drive throughs, our team met Dax after his owner believed he had been hit in the face. We brought him to our hospital and once he was examined, it was discovered that the open wound was actually caused by a tumour. Unfortunately, the tumour could not be removed without performing an enucleation, giving Dax the best chance at a comfortable, pain-free life.

Providing life-changing veterinary care to animals in our communities is at the heart of what we do. Every animal we help is another life changed – giving pets the treatment they may never have received otherwise, while adding healthier, happier years with the families who love them.

Our outreach team is in communities every day, responding to calls, messages, and emails about animals in need.

Just yesterday, during a drive down a single road, we found and assisted four animals requiring urgent veterinary care:

🐾 Dax, who has a growth below his eye and may require an enucleation.
🐾 Major, who suffered a stab wound.
🐾 Wh**ey, who was knocked by a car.
🐾 Morty, who is living with a hernia.

All four animals will also be sterilised as part of their treatment.

These are just a few of the many animals we help every day. Their owners love and care for them but simply cannot afford the veterinary treatment needed to keep them healthy and free from pain.

Troubles, one of our welfare patients, was knocked by a car and suffered a broken front leg. His owner simply couldn't afford the surgery he needed, but it was clear how much this little dog is loved.

The best option was to amputate his injured leg, and while he was under anaesthetic, we also sterilised him. We're happy to say that Troubles is back home with his family and recovering well.
