Meet Max 🐾
At around 5 years old and 35 pounds, Max is the perfect medium-sized companion. We think he's a Terrier mixed with a little Plott Hound—but whatever his breed, he's 100% sweetheart.
Max is a quiet, observant guy who takes a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, his gentle personality shines. He would thrive in a calm, quieter home where he can relax and be your loyal sidekick.
Here's what makes Max so special:
🎾 Tennis balls are his absolute favorite.
🚗 He loves car rides and is always happy to be your co-pilot.
🐕 Walks beautifully on a leash.
🏡 seems house-trained with no accidents in his foster home.
🐱 Ignores neighborhood cats when out on walks
❤️ Absolutely adores his foster dog sibling and would likely enjoy a canine companion.
🐾 Working on commands & crate training

If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing dog to be your devoted best friend, Max may be the perfect match. To meet Max please call ☎️ 740-453-0273 to schedule a meet and greet as Max is in a foster home.

Tow more adoptions to round out your Monday morning!!
Trapper has been adopted!! His new dad recently lost his dog and his house was far too quiet. He came in and met a few different dogs but Trapper stole his heart. He climbed right up next to him and they were immediately best friends. He'll have a huge bed and fenced in back yard to call home now! His new dad also donated to the Griff Fund and our fundraiser for Laurie our volunteer ❤️
Mickey also has been adopted!! Her new mom had lost her previous dog a year ago, and she was feeling lonely and knew it was time for a little buddy. Due to health concerns, she needed a smaller dog. Little Mickey fit that perfectly! She went to a foster adopt home but she didn’t need the 2 weeks to know she was the one!! She let us know that his favorite hobby is chasing lightning bugs in the yard. He also is a bit quirky in that one of his ears will perk up and the other stays down. He is definitely spoiled already!
Thank you to your new parents for giving you forever homes ❤️🐶🐾

We have been very busy lately! And we need to get you caught up on our adoption announcements!!
Sapphire’s new mom came from West Virginia for a higher energy, active dog. This was her new mom’s first dog as her own. She spent a lot of time and went home to get everything ready. Then came back to officially adopted!!
Amirah also was adopted!! Her new family had been thinking about getting a dog for a while, but hadn’t ever committed. They ended up taking her home foster to adopt. They quickly returned and officially adopted her! They report she has been the most perfect dog they could imagine. She is perfectly house trained, loves the kids, and is the biggest sweetheart! They declined the adoption photo.
Mae also has been adopted!! Her new parents had noticed her post when she came in and decided to meet her. They wanted to offer her a soft place to spend her days after losing her former owner. We missed the opportunity to get an adoption picture.
Letty also has bee adopted!! Her new family came in looking for a larger, middle aged dog that was good with their kids . They instantly fell in love with her and made it official!! They declined an adoption photo.
Bo-Peep also had been adopted!! Her new mom was looking for a little dog to get along with her poodle and fell in love with her! She declined an adoption picture.
Help us wish these pooches happy tails in their forever homes ❤️🐾🐶

Thank you to everyone who came out to the microchipping event Friday! We were able to chip 30 animals and all the proceeds go to our volunteer Laurie who is hospitalized at OSU currently and could really use prayers and all the positivity sent her way. Many thanks to Gone To The Dogs, our event sponsor, for sponsoring the microchips and trimming some doggie toenails for donations. Thank you to all who donated to the raffle! Special thanks to Debi who is employed by Baxter’s Barnyard (Laurie’s business) for setting up a table with homemade cards to give get well wishes to Laurie as well as having some available for purchase. Thank you to Kingdom Coffee for keeping us caffeinated and hydrated on the hot day. Also, thank you to Nikki Schwartzmiller for the homemade doggie treats, they were a hit! Thank you to the staff and volunteers for putting this event together to assist a loved volunteer and her family during the volunteer’s health crisis. Laurie, you have a community behind you 🙏🐾
There are still some microchips available for purchase at a discounted price for $20.

08/01/2026

We still have 20 microchips that we’ll continue to sell for $20 for the weekend to go to benefit our volunteer Laurie.
