Gandolf Veterinary Orthopedics & Surgery is seeking a Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our founding team as we launch a new dedicated surgical center.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build strong skills in surgery, anesthesia support, and operating room procedures while helping shape a new surgical practice from the ground up.

Position

• Part-time: 15–25 hours per week
• Surgery-focused practice
• Structured training in surgical assisting
• Opportunity to grow into a senior / lead support role

🩺 Responsibilities

• Surgical patient preparation
• Instrument cleaning, packing, and sterilization
• Surgical pack and tray setup
• Assisting during surgical procedures
• Anesthesia monitoring support (with training)
• Radiography assistance
• Patient recovery monitoring
• Inventory and equipment maintenance

✔ Qualifications

Gandolf Veterinary Orthopedics & Surgery is launching a dedicated surgical center in Zanesville and is seeking 1–2 experienced RVTs to join our founding team.

This is a rare opportunity to help build a surgical facility from the ground up — contributing to setup, workflow design, scheduling structure, and clinical protocols.

POSITION DETAILS

• Part-time: 15–25 hours per week FULL time option can be discussed
• Surgery-focused practice
• Involvement in facility setup prior to opening
• Opportunity to grow into a Lead RVT role as the practice expands

QUALIFICATIONS

I had the pleasure of helping one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met!!! Moo was rescued from euthanasia at a shelter up north. She is only about five years old, but has arthritis issues and a torn ACL that I was able to address yesterday. Seriously- she is So sweet. Message me if you are seriously interested in her! Also, we got her on Dr. Fossum's CBD and I know that’s going to really help Help with her arthritis!

We had two very different knees to work on last week- have a look! A cute and cuddly kitty with a horribly broken femur hand a polar bear 😆with a torn acl .

✨ Meet Nash! ✨
This sweet 7-month-old kitten was rescued by the Muskingum Co iHumane Society with a badly broken leg. I repaired it with an IM pin and external fixator on Monday and kept him overnight in my bathtub and he handled everything like a champ!

Nash is already doing great, and we’re so proud to have saved another leg and given another pet the chance at a happy, healthy life. He’s going to make someone a truly wonderful cat. 💙🐾 let me know if know if you are interested in adopting him!

Can’t complain about the past week- got to fix two dog femurs and save this kitty from amputation, too! It was a new weight record repair for me coming in at 1.7 pounds! I’m fostering her- let me know if you are keen on adopting this sweetie! She will be ready for to full send it in 3 weeks!
