Alysha: I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2020 with a degree in Biology, but my journey in the animal care field started long before that—over eight years ago. I began by volunteering at the AWARE Wildlife Center, where I had the amazing opportunity to work hands-on with non-releasable wildlife ambassadors as an ambassador handler.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up surrounded by a variety of pets, from cats and dogs to more exotic companions like tarantulas, snakes, lizards, and even scorpions. While I love all creatures, I proudly consider myself a cat person—I share my home with my husband and our four feline fur babies: CJ, Luke, Nellie, and Oscar.
When I'm not working with animals, you’ll probably find me at a concert, spending quality time with friends and family, or soaking up the magic at Universal Orlando (my happy place!).

With over 25 years in veterinary medicine, I’ve cherished every moment spent caring for animals and the incredible humans who love them. From the tiniest kitten to loyal senior pups, each fur baby has left a pawprint on my heart.

I’m also a proud breast cancer survivor—celebrating 10 years in remission this year! Life is precious, and I’m grateful for every wild, wonderful moment (especially the ones involving animals and a bit of mischief).

Outside the clinic, I share my home with a lively crew of cats, one amazing dog, My husband and son. I’ve worked extensively in animal rescue and have personally bottle-fed, raised, and rehomed over 500 kittens. Helping them grow strong and find their forever families has been one of the great joys of my life.

And when I’m not saving whiskered lives, you’ll find me embracing my spooky side—haunted houses, horror movies, and Halloween everything. I believe a little fright makes life more fun!
