🚨 PARVO ALERT 🚨

Don’t let the face of Dr. Ladman and Tech Steph fool you- we have a serious situation at hand!

We have seen THREE cases of canine parvovirus in just one week, which is an unusually high number for our area. These cases have originated from the northern and western areas of Wilmington, Delaware.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening virus that primarily affects puppies and unvaccinated dogs. It can survive in the environment for months and is easily spread through contaminated f***s, soil, shoes, clothing, and other surfaces.

Please make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations and avoid taking unvaccinated puppies to public areas where dogs may congregate.

Signs of parvovirus include:

Vomiting
Severe diarrhea (often bloody)
Loss of appetite
Lethargy or weakness
Fever or low body temperature
Dehydration
Abdominal pain or discomfort
Rapid weight loss

If your dog is showing any of these symptoms, especially if they are young or not fully vaccinated, please seek veterinary care immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment can greatly improve the chances of recovery.
