HELP NEEDED 🐈 šŸšØā€¼ļø
One of our clients passed away suddenly last week which left her 4 cat babies homeless. Just so heartbreaking, her cats were her whole life! Two have found homes, looking for a home for the last two urgently.
Morris 8yr old (medium haired orange tabby) and Milly 4 yr old (black and white short haired). Both very chill.
We are urgently looking for a temporary place before tomorrow until we can find a permanent home for them. Please reach out to us if you are able to help.

From Nico’s mom..

Nico is one of our six dogs, but his story is truly one of a kind. I found him on The Bond Between’s website—despite already having five dogs and absolutely not needing to look. The moment I saw his picture, I was instantly in love. Nico had been rescued from a devastating situation where he was left to die, weighing only nine pounds. It took some time before I officially adopted him, as he was diagnosed with epilepsy, and much of his past remains a mystery—we don’t even know his exact age. Today, he’s also living with congenital heart failure. But with the help of the incredible Golden team, Nico continues to amaze all of us with his grit, determination, and fierce will to live. We joke that he must really be a cat, because he’s clearly taking full advantage of nine lives. Nico brings our family endless joy with his quirky personality, independent spirit, and unstoppable tenacity. I love this little guy more than words can say.

Our daughter met Layla at James J Hill Days in Wayzata. Layla was a tiny puppy there with her foster mom. Zoe brought me to meet her and we learned she was up for adoption. We immediately applied and were so happy to be her forever family.

Almost 2 years later Zoe was at a camp at the Humane society and each day at pick up we would walk around and visit the dogs. On her last day Ricky showed up and we immediately bonded. We waited a week since Zoe was headed to sleep away camp - the deal was if he was still there on our way home from picking Zoe up from camp we would take him home. We were so excited to see he was still there!

From Samson and Yofi’s mom..

We moved to Minnesota in September of 2020. Our dog, Yofi, had a bout of nausea that lasted more than a day. I called a veterinarian who had been recommended to me. However, when I called to make an appointment they informed me they were not taking sick new patients (during Covid). I told them I was new to MN and asked if they could recommend another veterinarian and they said ā€œno.ā€ A friend suggested I try her friend, Sharon Golden. I called and the person on the other end of the phone couldn’t have been more friendly. She told me Dr Golden would see her. Dr Sharon was so friendly and warm. She told me she could run all kinds of tests, but really thought it was GERD. And that is how we have treated it. I am consistently impressed with the kindness of everyone at Golden Veterinary Care and I am so thankful we found you.

Happy 6-year anniversary, thank you all for everything that you do in taking care of our pets and us, and thank you for asking for fun stories to celebrate!

Fun camping story with cows

We went on our annual camping trip in August 2023 with our dogs 14 year old Zoey and 13 year old Kona, and cows seemed to be the theme of our trip. We headed West to our planned remote campsite near Sundance, WY, where we had not been for a couple of years. Our spot was empty as usual, and the firepit we built was still intact, but as we headed down the road to check out the cattle reservoir there was a large herd of cows for the first time in the several years we had been going there and they quickly flocked to us, which is not great for camping with herding dogs. So we headed back to the Black Hills where we had not been in 7 years. We decided to go see an area that we had looked at a few times before along Slate Creek near Hill City, SD. No one was there this time, and it was such a beautiful spot in a big valley with the hills all around, a creek running through, and no recent evidence of cows, so we set up camp. On our second day there however, we were relaxing around camp and we heard cows getting closer. We went out to the dirt road and we saw the cowboys and their horses trotting off after they had just pushed a huge herd of cows towards our camp. As we were standing there trying to figure out what to do, a guy who seemed to know cows and his Cattle Dog in an ancient Suzuki Samurai drove up and told us that all we needed to do was waive our arms in the air and say ā€œooga booga boogaā€ and the cows will run the other way, and darned if that didn’t work. Turns out our Border Collies were also quite adept at herding the cows away, so we managed to stay there and keep the cows out of our camp for the week.

From Addy and Gracie’s mom…

Two years ago—because life has a sick sense of humor— I found myself at Golden Veterinary Clinic on Xmas day. While most people were opening presents, Dr. Sharon was opening the clinic to help my little Addy cross over. She treated my Addy like she was the most important patient in the world—because to me, she was. In one of the hardest moments in my life, Dr. Sharon showed extraordinary compassion and patience treating Addy with the kind of love and dignity every pet deserves. What surprised me most was what came after. The staff would check on me frequently by phone. Every phone call felt less like a follow-up and more like a friend gently asking, ā€œHow are you holding up and is your heart okay?ā€

Even now when I call to make an appointment for my Gracie, it doesn’t matter who answers the phone—I’m always met with warmth, as if I’m speaking to someone who truly knows me and cares. At Golden Veterinary Clinic, pets are never just patients and people are never just clients.

From Rosie’s mom…

This is Rosie. She started out as a runt of a kitten up north in Duluth and ultimately made her way back to the cities. About a year into her life, Rosie got sick. Welts, raw skin, and angry spots on her legs/face/body. She had vet appointments and months in a cone without any answers. Luckily, I have a best friend who works at an amazing clinic who got her in right away one winter break from college. Sharon met with Rosie and connected her to a dermatologist and we continued hoping for answers. Time went on and Rosie unfortunately lived in a cone little longer while we searched for answers. The doctors at Golden Vet continued to vouch and advocate for her and we finally got a regimen where she is able to live comfortably without a cone. I am lucky enough to have this clinic with the love, care, and consideration they have given her as if she was their own pet. I’ve been so lucky to have such an amazing team help support Rosie during her ā€œmedical mysteryā€ phase and work with me and her to figure out what’s best (shout out to Nicole for doing shots at home). I can’t imagine ever bringing Rose or my other pets anywhere else after the love i’ve seen this clinic have for animals. Now she’s lucky enough (maybe not in her eyes) to have a brother named Cosmo and live a happy and healthy life I’ll never be able to thank this team enough for the care my fur babies have gotten.
