✨ C**t Starting Academy 2025 — Complete! ✨

What an incredible journey it’s been! We are so proud of Sydney & Gambit, Joe & Kraven, and Emily & Lena for their hard work, dedication, and growth throughout our 2025 C**t Starting Academy.

These young horses learned it all — from groundwork and first saddling, to first rides at the walk, trot, and canter, trail obstacles, pushing cattle, and so much more. The progress made in 90 days is something special to be apart of.

We’re thankful for the trust these riders placed in us and are so proud of each horse and rider pair. This program is always a highlight for our team, and we can’t wait for the next one!

Basil is looking for her forever partner! We’ve thrown her into our lesson string over the past few weeks - she is fantastic for experienced pre-teens / teens (shown in the videos). Very willing to do any job thrown at her. Bay Roan AQHA 3 year old mare. We would absolutely love to keep her onsite, in lessons / training or for her to go to someone we know! From a dependable ranch partner in the field to a balanced ride down the centerline, this powerful and versatile mare does it all - and she does it with heart, try, and a can-do attitude every time you swing a leg over.

Jade is the kind of horse that wants a job and thrives with a confident rider that can match her energy and drive. Jade is also very safe around young kids and packs toddlers around at ease and would make a great family horse. She’s safe, sure-footed, and steady across disciplines and environments with the experience to back it up. While she has the bone and power of a draft, she no deadhead - Jade is responsive, forward-thinking and happiest when she has a job. Jade has been with us since she was a yearling. She has proven to be:

▪️A Confidence Builder for Young Horses - Jade has ponied and steadied countless colts during their first rides - calm, collected and patient under pressure.

▪️Handy with Ranch Work - During long days tackling life on the ranch or moving cows on a relaxed ride, Jade handles it all. She thrives with connection and purpose.

▪️Clinic-Seasoned - She’s been ridden in and helped teach numerous Horsemanship, Stockmanship and Trail Obstacle Clinics both at KPH and off-site.

▪️Unfazed in new environments and hauls well

▪️Used in Summer Camps and Lessons for advanced teens in 2022

▪️Has competed in Western and Classical Dressage at local shows

▪️Excellent for both farrier and vet - stands quietly, has fantastic feet and is an easy keeper, currently has front shoes but can also go barefoot

Skye has officially graduated from our program! After 4 months under saddle, this beautiful Spanish Arabian is heading home to start his next chapter. Lisa, thank you for always trusting us with your horses — we truly enjoy working with you and can’t wait to see what you and Skye accomplish together!

We have a couple boarding spots coming available in December.

Tucked into a peaceful 215-acre setting surrounded by hay and cattle fields, Sugaree Ranch offers a unique setting for pasture boarded horses. Sugaree has miles of trails, a trail obstacle course, a professonal grade lighted 100x200 arena, a 55-acre hay field that provides an open space and more! Our herds graze on large pastures ranging from 2-7 acres secured with no-climb fencing and shelters. We are family owned and operated with two trainers on-site offering training, lessons, clinics and events providing many opportunities to work on building a deeper partnership between you and your horse. Pasture Board includes grain 2x a day, round bale with hay hut, shelter, seasonal blanketing all with top notch care! We welcome all disciplines, ages and experience levels.
