Double R Stables is a full-service Equestrian Center located conveniently on 44 rolling acres in beautiful Union County, North Carolina.

And more!! Double R Stables is a full service facility located in Waxhaw, NC. Our farm consists of 34 stalls in 3 separate barns offering full-service care, high quality feed, hay and turnout. We have two rings located on the premises with show-quality jumps and both have lights, making riding in the evenings possib

le during daylight savings time, and in the summer, to beat the heat. The owner of Double R lives on premises, and barn workers are on-site constantly to keep an eye on the horses and to care for their every need. We make it our goal to serve each client individually and tailor a program to each horse and rider that fits their needs. We are in the process of aquiring a new trainer/instructor to take over The Double R Riding Academy! Feel free to PM us a resume and we'll reach out if interested!

Last night we had Tommy's "Celebration of Life", here at the barn.
I can't express the amount of love and gratitude that was shown and felt by all. I want to thank everyone for taking time out of their Saturday to show how much Tommy was truly loved and how much he will be missed.
He will be gone, but he will forever be in our hearts!

And to my honey, I will forever love you! ❤️

I don't have the words to describe how incredibly sad I am! My beloved Tommy (Thomas Haun), passed away on Thursday after a two week stay in the hospital. I never dreamed he would be taken away so quickly.
Tommy and I had almost 8 years together, I had hoped for so many more!

When Tommy became a part of the farm 7 years ago, I was unaware how good he was for the job. Right from the start, his affection for the horses was undeniable. Then that same affection, went on to all the other animals, cows and Cowboy. His sincerity will be greatly missed!

For all that want to know, Tommy's service will be held in his hometown, Stony Point. The link to those arrangements can be found at the below link.

We here at the barn are planning a celebration of life on Sat Oct 7th @ 5:00pm at the lower barn.

All are welcome to either or both gatherings.

Our Story

Double R Stables is a full service facility located in Waxhaw, NC. Our farm consists of 34 stalls in 3 separate barns offering full-service care, high quality feed, hay and turnout. We have two rings located in the premises with show-quality jumps. Both arenas have lights and covered, raised observation decks. We have an incredibly talented trainer who works with our boarders, horses and students to help them achieve their personalized riding goals, from pleasure riding to competitive riding. The owner of Double R Stables lives on the premises, and barn workers are constantly on-site to keep an eye on the horses and to care for their every need. We make it our goal to serve each client individually and tailor a program to each horse and rider that fits their needs.
