Good morning, and welcome to our favorite week of the year...Zookeeper Week!
This is the week of the year that we celebrate the dedicated, hardworking, passionate professionals that we call zookeepers. From early mornings to late nights, from sweltering heat to frigid cold, from tears of joy (and the ones of sadness), they do it all. Daily medications, training sessions, enrichment wins (and fails), hauling hay bales, feed bags, sand, rocks, woodchips, pine shavings, compost, meat, produce, shoveling snow, whipping weeds, cleaning pools, keeper chats, animal demos, and an infinite amount of other responsibilities are all part of the job.
We know that every zookeeper was once a kid who loved animals, and this week we're celebrating a group of people that are living their dream!
