An update:

I'm back! Media posts will be light for a while. I am navigating a tense situation. For now, as I learn to manage this business entirely alone, I am unable to accept new clients. I am also unable to offer shaves at this time. Working alone has been a huge adjustment for me, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

Everything is ok, I simply need some time to get my life in order.

Thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns. Queen B is here to stay, my capacity is just limited at this time. To all of my recurring clients who've kept me afloat - thank you so much for your continued support. I know how important this service is to our community and I'm doing everything I can to continue helping you and your cats. To everyone who might have fallen through the cracks in the last month or so - I apologize sincerely.

"This is just a storm inside a teacup, but shelter here with me my love. Thunder like a drum, this life will beat you up. This is just a temporary speed bump, but failure brings you freedom, and I can bring you love. Don't you sweat it baby, it's alright, you were dancing through the lightning strikes, sleepless in the onyx night, but now the sky is opalite."

March is booking up quickly! My birthday is Wednesday - I'd love to see my schedule filled up with cats 🥰

Next available appointments start March 5th at 2:30. We're seeking clients who want predictable, convenient cat care in Trumbull & Mahoning counties. We have online booking to help "fill in the blanks" with our schedule, but grooming should be a constant on YOUR schedule for the health of your pet.

My new app allows recurring appointments! If you need a monthly nail trim or have a consistent work schedule, recurring appointments give you the flexibility to guarantee a slot for the future, while helping me plan my travel in a more productive manner 😁

So whether you need a weekday afternoon, a weekend evening, or even a lazy Sunday morning, Queen B has openings to lock in your appointment before we can no longer accept new clients.

Please remember: we are a two-woman team, and when you book with Queen B, you're booking more than a session for your cat. You're supporting a small business, and you're receiving a specialty service from the same trustworthy people every single time. No strangers, no travel, no worries.

Text today to become a Queen B regular - repeat clients receive exclusive discounts and priority scheduling!

Meet Paul - a good boy who is 16 years old & struggling to keep up with self-grooming. You can see how knotted and pelted this baby's fur was. He was experiencing pain and discomfort all over due to his mats being so tight against his skin.

Paul is the cat who landed a swat on my face. No hard feelings, Paul! He gave no typical warning signs (airplane ears, growling, hissing, tail swishing, NOTHINGGGG), and his shave-down went off without a hiccup. Unfortunately, when we had cleaned up after our session & were getting Paul settled for his "reveal" photo, his turkey timer went off and Paul let us know with one swift paw to the chin 🌝👊🏼

It's part of the job - all groomers have battle scars. Luckily, this is why we always trim nails FIRST. You can see how long his claws were; this wound could have been a LOT worse. Paul is on our schedule for nail trims & to maintain his coat as it grows out.

It doesn't matter how much experience someone has with animals, how calm an animal is, or if the animal has no prior history of biting/attacking - there is always a risk involved & this is why we required proof of vaccination 💜 to protect both your groomer and your cat.

We'd like to introduce two special kitties: Lord Beerus & Freya!

These beautiful babies belong to another cousin of mine (yes, I have many many many cousins LOL). They were so well-behaved for their first baths! Beerus has a dense, tight coat that will require de-greasing as he ages, and Freya has a wispy double coat that will require frequent brushing & de-shedding to prevent mats.

Both cats have an amazing personality and they're very trusting & gentle 🥰 We look forward to keeping these 2 on our schedule for nail trims & clean-ups as needed!

Our buddy Toast is headed to NY for a trip with his family. He sat pretty for a haircut so his fur doesn't get matted while he has no access to a groomer. Care & comfort need to be viewed from a preventative lens. Communication with your pet's groomer is key to a long, healthy relationship. We can help identify problems before they get out of control; we can help prep you & your baby for transitions & vacations; and building that trust with your cat is our specialty.

Toast knows he's getting the MOST out of his sessions with Queen B - just look at that crisp hair line!

🩹 Cat Scratch PSA🐾

Yesterday, I earned myself a trip to urgent care after a pretty deep cat scratch. I needed a tetanus booster — not rabies.
Rabies transmission from a scratch is very rare because rabies is spread through saliva, typically via a bite. A scratch by itself isn’t usually the risk unless saliva is involved.

So why do groomers still require proof of rabies vaccination?

Because I work hands-on, close to faces and mouths, with stressed or scared cats. If a bite ever does happen, vaccination records protect everyone and prevent a very scary, complicated process.

Another thing: even though the cut was deep, the doctor didn’t stitch it. Here’s why 👇

Animal wounds are considered dirty wounds. Closing them with stitches can trap bacteria inside and increase the chance of infection. Leaving it open allows it to drain and heal.

I’m okay, healing, and grateful it wasn’t worse. Some cats are more territorial in their own home; this particular cat was fine his entire shaving session - his turkey timer was just UP and he got the upper paw on me.

Just wanted to share a little education about why vaccine requirements and safety rules exist in grooming.

Give your kitties some extra love tonight — preferably with their claws trimmed 😸

Community “Palentines” Card-Making Party at Westside Bowl to Benefit Thrive Mahoning Valley

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Community members are invited to gather for a cozy and creative afternoon of connection at the Palentines Card-Making Party, taking place Saturday, February 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Westside Bowl in Youngstown.

Hosted by local community event initiative Rhinestones Optional LLC, in partnership with Thrive Mahoning Valley, the event offers an inclusive space for friends, families, neighbors, international students, new Americans, and anyone seeking meaningful connection on Valentine’s Day.

Attendees will have access to a wide variety of card-making supplies and creative materials to craft Valentine’s messages for loved ones and members of the broader community. No artistic experience is required, and all are welcome to participate in the relaxed, pay-what-you-can gathering. Attendees are welcome to bring stationary, cards, stamps or magazines for clip art. A raffle basket donated by Queen B Mobile Cat Care will also be featured.

Net proceeds after event expenses will be donated to Thrive Mahoning Valley, a nonprofit organization that supports community connection through accessible bicycle repair, monthly meal distribution, and programs serving community members including neighbors, students, and new-comers to the Mahoning Valley.

“Palentines is about creating a welcoming space where people can feel connected, creative, safe and included,” said organizer Jessica Valsi, founder of Rhinestones Optional. “We hope this simple gathering helps bring warmth to the community while supporting the important work Thrive Mahoning Valley is doing locally.”

The event is open to the public. Suggested donations are welcome but not required. The fundraiser is still accepting donations and sponsorships.
